My urologist thinks I am suffering from chronic prostatitis? I have had pain at the base and mid-section of my penis. I thought I might have had a UTI but that test came back negative. I also noticed some issues obtaining and/or maintaining an erection. I know my PCP said she did some tests and my testosterone levels were low but when I described all my symptoms my urologist said it is Chronic Prostatitis and gave me some antibiotics. I noticed that after about a week after taking them I have noticed some slight improvements with my erection issues and pain has went down quiet a bit. Does anyone know if you ever get back to being normal after the prostatitis if that is truly what it is clears up? Also if my testosterone levels are down would a testosterone injection help as well?

You have suffered from urethritis and pain in the penis, low testosterone levels, negative urine tests and persistent symptoms, which may be chronic prostatitis or chronic orchitis, associated with decreased immunity or inflammation.
Testosterone is secreted by the testis. Its normal value is about 20 nanomoles per liter of blood for men aged 20 to 50. If its value is low, it may lead to sexual dysfunction.
In a questionnaire survey, 50 patients with epididymitis and prostatic gland in 6 different countries were surveyed. Among them, 38 patients indicated that they were resistant to antibiotics.
So they used herbal Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory pill to promote blood circulation in the prostate and epididymis areas, and enhance the body's immunity, 70 to 90 percent of patients said that their quality of life had been improved after taking the pills.
I have frequent attacks of prostatitis and a short course of antobiotics just doesn't work. At least a month is needed because the prostate is so dense. To start with my GP used to give me short courses and it ould come back very quickly afterwards. He read up on it and discovered you need a longer course to deal with it. I always know when its on its way becuase it suddenly feels like I am sitting on something so get on it quickly
