Circumcisions recovery advise

SO Tuesday I got circumcised, I’m 18 and it’s quite a lot to bare with. First night was fine as had a dressing on, then the second day I removed it and ran a little water over it like my consultant advised. I let it all out for the rest of the day ontop of a cushion with clean tissue on. The second night I panicked and rang the out of hours team, I think that was because of being able to see the stitches and the fact it’s uncomfortable. The nurses redressed it and the second night was okay. They said my dick looked perfectly fine, just to rest. I left the dressing on all the third day and took it off at around 7 in the evening. I let it out for a bit then put a new dressing over it to keep it all together for sleep. I’m very nervous to sleep each night as I worry the stitches will snap due to night erections.

Currently I’m on 2 1/2 days recovery and wanted to find anyone who can give me recovery advise and something to put my mind at rest?

what’s the best painkillers for the pain and uncomfortableness?

And will smoking dope affect the recovery??

It is already swollen pretty bad and had some bad bruising and bleeding first day too. I was wondering to get advise for day 3-7 ideally. I’m getting pretty anxious and paranoid about it all which is preventing me to sleep

Swelling took a week and half to go down for me so it's perfectly normal it takes time which sucks but it's nothing to worry about. Salt baths help swelling

The night time boner is an issue for us all, but the stitches can take it, don't worry. We are all going through or have gone through the same thing. You are a few days in so are likely in manageable pain and finding the sensitivity the next challenge.

Sit in a bath every day if you can as well as the shower. It helps the stitches dissolve faster.

Take painkillers as needed and weed won't affect the recovery, as long as you don't get wasted and damage the stitches.

Deal with the horniness but do not try and play with it until two weeks or you will suffer pain and potentially damage the stitches.

It doesn't take long to recover from this mate. When you are beyond it, you will be much happier. I'm a few days ahead of you and it does get easier. Fast.

And don't forget right pants at night to keep it from loving around. Don't drink late and have a piss to remove the boner at four am.

Nice one mate it’s good hearing that, I haven’t been wearing anything since I got home and find that easier to get comfortable.

I got given co-dydramol, I need to have 2 four times a day, but I don’t think they’re actually taking pain away properly, only a bit..

how is best to look after it, having it out without dressing and bandages etc on 4th day onwards or making sure it’s covered?

Also wanted to say smoking does help a lot with taking your mind off it all!

Yeah man i reckon Iv already had the worst of the pain so far so I reckon it’ll be sound bro, today Iv just had it ou the bandage all day, gunna run it under water then redress it. You’ll be sweet

Rather than using an opiate painkiller, you might want to try an anti-inflammatory painkiller such as ibuprofen.

I'm 18 too and two weeks ahead you the night time erecrions get better not that that's any help. The stitches won't snap I thought the same but trust they may feel like they are but they won't. Just keep it clean and try not to drink two hours before sleep and go for a pee before you go to bed that should mean you get less erections. Weed will help the pain mate so again don't worry about that. Good luck hope things get better quickly for you.

I am on day 7 after my circumcision and after taking a long shower yesterday, I could see that most, if not all of the dry blood/discharge was gone from my penis and since then I have felt little to no pain down there. As everyone says and is right about it, it gets better with time!

One thing I used when I was in a lot of pain at around day 3-4 that reduced it tremendously was using surgical tape on the absorbing pads I got to tape them to my legs/underbelly. After doing that, I noticed that walking felt a bit weird and it itched from time to time, but the pain was definitely a lot lower.

On a side note, if you like video games and have a playstation/xbox/pc, I would recommend you play some sort of story driven game that lets you sink in to its world, temporarily forgetting about your circumcision. Titles like that for me were Life is Strange(PC/XBOX/PS4), To the Moon(PC/Android/iOS), The Last of Us(PS3/PS4).

how about showering? i showered after the first 24 hours when i removed the dressing and stuff, then havent till today (3 1/2 day after) but washed myself then only let a little bit of water run down my dick a few times and redressed it when dried it.

yeah ps4 and bit of smoke is the best for pain / uncomfortable relief i find.
