If only I had been given the TRUE facts on vasectomy problems I need not have had over thirty years of pain. After my snip, which I was told was "nothing much" I have never been able to sit in comfort, yet when I went back to the clinic they reckoned I was the only patient who had complained and that anyway they could not do anything for me. Yet the nhs only now admit one in ten vasectomies end up with long term pain. Why has it taken thirty years to at least warn patients of the VERY high risks of vasectomies. Giving men a false sense of anything going wrong has just not been fair.

I can honestly say I am more than happy with the result of my vasectomy, around seven years ago. The convenience factor alone makes it worthwhile.

But, I have to to say the pain post op' was more than I was lead to believe.

During the procedure I could 'feel' what was going on, no pain but like a nail being cut ? On the day it was a production line of patients, six of us one after the next. Immediately after the operation I was the only one who felt pain and my pain continued for a couple of weeks. Which I was told was unusual. My first day back at work following a week off, my face must have said it all. My boss walked past and told me to go and sit down ! The first and only known time compassion was shown.

But, as I said, worth it in the end.

Experiencing chronic long term testicle pain does seem to be more common than is often discussed with the so called "simple snip".
