10 days post circumcision

I recently had a circumcision and thought I would document my reasons for doing so and also provide an update on the recovery.

I decided to have a circumcision as I suffered from both a tight foreskin (phimosis) and also a tight frenulum - that teared a few years ago and has never really healed. I tried the steroid creams and also the skin stretching techniques but nothing worked.

For clarity, I have always been able to retract my foreskin when flaccid with no pain or trouble. However when erect, the foreskin retracts after some force, but comes with an uncomfortable, but bearable, amount of pain. Certain sexual positions, such as the women on top, were often the most painful, due to the pulling down on the foreskin, and sometimes concluded in changing positions.

I had my op done under local anaesthetic, which was a terrible decision, and to be completely frank was one of the most painful things I have experienced. Even after three injections of anaesthetic, I could still feel the cutting, burning and stitching throughout the entire surgery, which lasted about 30 minutes. I would advise anyone who is thinking about having a circumcision, think carefully about going under local A, as it is extremely painful. If you are happy with the risks and the adverse feelings afterwards...go for general A.

The first couple of days after the surgery were virtually pain free, which i can only assume was down to the local A still being in my system. I left the gauze on for the recommended time of 24 hours (doc said I could wait up to 48). There was a little bit of blood and the shaft of my penis was very bruised.

Day 3 to day 7 were the worst days for me. The midnight erections frequented a few times a night and caused me to wake up. Also as i was unable to masturbate or have sex, the daily erections kicked in and were also incredibly painful due to the stretching of the stitches. My penis was also very swollen and very sensitive on both the shaft and the head. By around day 4 the thick yellow/white gunge formed where my frenulum used to be.

Day 8

Woke up with incredible morning glory which caused one of the stitches to rip. Sharp pain for about 2 seconds. The head become less sensitive and the erections become less painful.

Day 9/10

I have zero pain now when I get an erection and on the way to a full recovery. The yellow/white puss has nearly disappeared and the swelling has gone. I still have some stitches in but they do not cause any pain. I masturbated for the first time, by gently massaging the shaft. I was able to orgasm, but not at the same intensity as before, but this is understandable as I took it very easy. I am going to wait a few more weeks before I move up to the head/cut line.

From day 3 to day 10, I have been bathing in sea salt once a day, which I really think helped.

So far I am happy with the circumcision, however, I am of the opinion that it should only be carried out for medical reasons (like my phimosis), not for cosmetic or religious reasons. If you have a fully functioning foreskin...you should keep it :).

Finally, I have posted some pictures on day 10.

Thanks for the update it gives me confidence since I'm in day 8 today that thick yellow/white gunge gave me too much stress because I thought it is infection but now since you said it is gone now it gives me motivation, so does it disappear by itself or you have to do something like squeezing it or something?

Hi Shady45,

I didn't touch it, it came off whilst in the bath, I think the water loosens it up. I would recommend not trying to pick it off.

Hope your recovery is going well!

Your penis looks amazing. You’re doing incredibly well after just 10 days. You will have an amazing result!! Hang in there

Hi, What is the ring just below the glans? Is it the remnant of foreskin folded onto itself?

Yes it is the remnant of the foreskin. I was not expecting this to be left by the surgeon.

You were brave kid. I had mine done in 201r but had sedation. Stress free experience. One of the better decisions I made in life. I am sorry I hadn't mine done when I was in my twenties. It's far cleaner more masculine and women prefer this trust me.

Thanks Dronist, although in hindsight it was more stupid than brave i think :).

I am 27 and should have had this done when the problem first arrived....when I was in my late teens/early twenties!

Hopefully you are right with the women's preferences, but from my research, I think the women's opinion is divided. Let's hope my next girlfriend is pro cut!

It's nice to have this chat with other guys who have all gone through the same thing!

Wow - that's unfortunate about the anesthesia - I also had a local with mine, but I had none of the pain you experienced. I agree with the other posters - you look like you are healing well! Should be ship-shape in a few more weeks!

What a nightmare experience for you. But I have to say that your penis now looks really good. Give yourself adequate time to heal physically and regain confidence in your penis and I am sure you'll find your orgasms will be as intense as before you had the procedure. I was 'done' due to phimosis and I have to say that I have never had any regrets, but I wholeheartedly agree with you that it ought to be done only for medical reasons. No one should have any surgery unless absolutely necessary. All good wishes, Peter A

Very similar to my situation. I had phimosis and got circumcised before 5 days. There is similar white thing around frenulum, it kept me worried.and night erections are extreme painful due to streches of stiches.
