Hi pammy....I am newly diagnosed to lupus and bruise very easily....whether it be someone just nudging into me or walking into a door. Sometimes I look like I've been in a fight! I do sympathise with you completely and according to my specialist nurse it's one of the joys of lupus and app nothing can stop it. X

Hello Pammy, I am new to taking the anti malarial drug but I too have noticed bruises that have appeared overnight. I am just putting it down to the many other little niggles I have found since taking this med. Roll on 5 months so I might be joint pain free!

They say Arnica is good for bruises Pammy, let me know how you get on.

Lots of hugs, well not too tight or we might bruise again ha ha

Plaquenil can cause bruising. Are you on Asprin or Warfarin?

I have started getting bruising too. Its difficult to know whether its the steriods or plaquenil, but I would think that its the steriods.

I too look like I have been in a fight. I am on Plaquenil but it was when I started steroids that it really showed. Aspirin is also supposed to make you bruise....

Hi Pammy the prednisilone will cause bruising, my husband has been on them for a few years for COPD and they also cause very thin skin so you could find that even just knocking yourself you will end up tearing the skin. You could also put weight on.

Hi Pammy, I've been on hydroxychloroquine for years & I bruise something awful! I find myself regularly pointing out at work that 'I do all my own stunts' as I am aware of exchanged looks & whispers!!!

I was told I bruise because of low platelette levels but that the hydroxy also makes me bruise more easily.xx

I always have bruises, tho' I'm not on any meds (I'm still refusing/holding out on 'em!, as they only add more toxins, therefore, more symptoms, side affects & more problems! Best you check with your Dr asap. Best of luck & lots of healing :0)

Bruising is common with long term steroid use. Spotted Trout Syndrome I like to call it. How did that get there? A common comment from mates. As long as the bruises heal all good. If bruises linger or enlarge best to go to doctor to sort as an infection can occur. Be careful. Be well. On on on ...

Ha ha anyway, take care all, lots of love Pammy

P.S thanks again xx
