The most significant being Hydroxicloriquine and chloroquine which have caused retinopathy. I am now on a low dose of methotrexate and Rituximab. I have noticed that my eye sight has gradually been getting more and more blurred.

Chloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine: These drugs, traditionally used to treat malaria, have been investigated for their autophagy-modulating properties. They inhibit the later stages of autophagy and are being studied in various diseases, including cancer.

I’ve had no change of drugs and am on prednisone Methortrexate and chloroquine. My feet are always cold but my body is often sweating. It’s almost that my thermostat has broken! Welcome any advice.

I am on MTX and Hydro chloroquine was introduced about 5 years ago.But it was withdrawn for unknown reason just before Covid. Nothing was reviewed as planned. I havr distorted right toes due to RA and they were inflamed. I had an ultrasound aided steroid injection which is helping temporarily.

I just checked some older studies and it appears that chloroquine is a competitive inhibitor of serotonin uptake by platelets.

The MHRA has published a new Drug Safety Update for hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine.

I see that chloroquine makes you lose muscle mass. Has anyone had this problem? I still have a fairly good appetite. I am just much more breathless as I also have Pulmonary Hypertension. I am on water tablets for that. Would like to hear if anyone here has a similar experience.

Has been in remission for the last 6 months - on baricitinib, chloroquine and methotrexate but I’m starting a flare now. My question is - how do other people manage a flare? Do you wait for it to get bad, hoping it will settle- if next appointment is months away?
