One of the worst symptom he has is very painful fingertips, he has to wear gloves all the time as they are so painful and this impacts on his daily life immensely. Drs don’t think he has Raynaulds but any advice how to allieviste this pain, will the prescribed medication help TIA

sore fingertips
sounds like he may have chilblains. Are his fingertips red?
There was some studies that found a link to low B12. If your GP has not tested his B12 id ask them to do so and while they are at it get them to check his Folate, Ferritin and Vit D. If they refuse then you could get the tests done privately with somewhere like Medichecks. They do offers on Thursdays usually if they are going to do any.
Even if all tests are ok, supplementing with a good B Complex might help Igennus B complex is a nice one with nice small tablets which you can get from Igennus or on Amazon. Also you can google creams to put on his hands.
great thanks a lot. He’s currently having full profile of bloods done every 2 wks while just started on medication. Seeing GP next week will ensure tested for Vit B12 and folate thanks again great advice
I didn’t see that last bit about the TIA at first. The Hydroxy does have a small blood thinning affect so that might help. Now that I’ve seen that and you mention his fingers, which again can be a sign of blood issues. I would ask your GP to test for Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) which can be part of Lupus. If he’s not got full blown Lupus but has got the sticky blood, he may need something to help thin his blood a bit. This in turn will help his fingers.
