does anyone else suffer from sudden onset of painful sore, hard skin on the heels that isn't caused by new footwear?

I have this quite regularly so use a very good foot file at least twice a week. I have also discovered a very good foot cream made by boots, it's peppermint colour and made up of mint, lavender & marshmallow, I rub this all over my feet daily, it's luvly 😀

OMG! I dnt no someone was going thru the same foot problem as I. I hate my feet. I always wear socks to hide them. Its so painful to walk. Mine start itching and form dark red blotches and small blisters. Never got this problem checked

dont let the thick dry skin build up, rub with health and wisdom magnesium oil helps, rub with feet moisturizers, and i have found my stress level makes it worse....i also wear vionic footwear with a extra high arch that really helps.....or inserts in my sneakers.....

Yes, I use a foot file and a foot cream with urea in it, but I still can't sleep on my back as my heels hurt if in contact withe the bed. My feet burn at night anyway.

I wore silicone lined socks to bed for a while, but they are too tight when my feet swell.

Doctors say all my foot problems are due to lupus, just a matter of finding out what works best for you.

Soaking feet in a foot bath a handful of Epson salts is helpful.

I hope you find something that helps.

Yes, for as long as I can remember; 61 now and this goes back to my 30's. I was recently and correctly diagnosed with SLE and never dreamed it was due to this. It is very painful as you say. It takes constant diligence to keep up with it, and some days, it just takes too much energy. About all I can do is to remember to wear socks, and when I have the energy to bathe or shower, use a pumice stone lightly. Too vigorous an effort makes it worse. A good soak is 2 cups hot water to 2 cups hydrogen peroxide. Soak for about 30 minutes. Your feet will feel very nice.
