P.s. i saw the podiatrist yesterday and he was very helpful. He says these added pain problems are common after foot surgery. He's changed my insoles and whilst examining my foot he's found the spot on my ball of foot thats so painful and kindly worsened it. He wants to see me in a month and said if it doesnt settle he can refer me back to the foot surgeon.

Thanks Helen, no he hasn’t called back and tbh I can’t be bothered, I’ll just wait for my next appointment even if it is a long way off, I’ve just had too much else going on and no energy to deal with him, rest assured I will have something to say when I do speak to him!
Well done for getting down to 4.5mg but maybe like you say it could be a bit too low for you at the moment , I suppose the only way you’ll know is by increasing it again, oh dear it’s such a roller coaster and such a fine balancing act isn’t it! You didn’t expect to come out of your appointment in more pain did you😣 I’m so sorry, how disappointing ! I hope the new insoles help and it settles down soon🤞.
Take care in the heat, I’m keeping cool by keeping out of it, maybe sit in the shade for a few minutes, it is lovely to see the sunshine after all the rain.
Thank you dianne for your lovely mesdage. Thats really bad of your Rheumy, no wonder you feel so let down. Maybe you need to find a new one?. Thats for when you feel better too. I didnt expect to come out of podiatry appt with extra pain but he really found the painful spot on the ball of my foot. It could be a nerve thats been triggered by the op so this is why he wants to keep an eye on it. Hopefully it will settle. I put the new orthotic in my sandal and found it much more comfy today. Foot has calmed down from fri's poking. Its so swollen partly from the heat.
Juggling the steroids is hard so ill see what my gp says. 4.5mg means a lot as its a dose ive never been on in 32 years so i wanted that achievement but maybe too soon!.
Your so wise keeping out of the heat dianne. Im staying in the house and can be in bedroom in am as its coolest and then lounge in pm as thats coolest. Simple.

I’m so behind with messaging Helen, I’m so sorry! Thank you for this reply and your lovely email too, I love the photo of you and mum and your garden, they really are lovely pics ❤️🥰. Interesting about the migraines, I didn’t realise that about the oil although I do take cod liver oil everyday, yes I’ve been to the National migraine centre in London, I was referred about 8 years ago and had Botox treatment, horrible stuff, the difference to my migraines was marginal and it left me with a droopy eyelid for months which I had to hitch up with a bit of tape, lucky my fringe covered it!
I’ll get back to you in the week my lovely, I’m so pleased you’ve got your injection appointment and I hope you’re able to stay on the 4.5mg so fingers crossed for you🤞, you’ve done so well to get it down to that.
I bet you’re glad it’s a bit cooler, it was getting a too much for me too although it’s still baking when the sun does come out…we need some respite from it don’t we. Roll on winter, my favourite season.

That botox treatment must have been awful and outcome not worth the droopy eyelid!. That must have been horrible. Botox frightens me if im honest!.

The heat here has been unbearable. I’m trying to stay as cool as possible and not going out too much. Not used to heat like this, for so long a period, up here in Scotland. Have a large electric fan and a large water bottle which I keep filled. Have my second Pfizer vaccine on Friday and hoping that 1. I don’t have to stand in a queue for over an hour like last time and 2. It isn’t as hot as this .

No, I have never had a rabbit. Pet sat for my nieces when she was on holiday a few years ago. I do have hamsters though. Two Syrians, in separate cages. One is still very young so not much handling of her at the moment but give it a couple of months and she will be settled and feel totally secure. Xx

Thanks horsewhisper, too right about feet up this weather. What a scorcher!. Hope all your horses are keeping cool and your feeling a lot better now. Foot is better today, it didnt like being poked and prodded but at least site of pain has been found. I hope it settles properly and swelling goes down. Not easy this weather!.

Im very lucky the podiatrist i saw at the hospital is nhs but specialises in feet and ankles. He's part of the Orthapedic Team and very clever. My surgeon is a specialist in feet and ankles too so they work well together!. Im sorry your OH had such an awful experience.
Luckily today ive put the new orthotic in my sandals and its much more comfortable. Foot better today.Oh yes spotty and horsewhisper its a joy to put my swollen feet up and rest. 😀This heat is so wearing isnt it?.

Some breeze on the way Misty. 💨 It is dead still here tonight but fortuantely it is overcast so still comfortable. Yes, I’m pleased with our efforts in the garden today. I discovered an abandoned nest in a very open coconut ornamental bird feeder hanging outside my shed. It had 2 eggs in it so I’ve been watching the last day or two to make sure no birds are flying back and forth to it. Not a thing. So I think it really is abandoned. I must photograph it and see if any of our birders can identify it. I’ll also look in my nest and egg bird book. I hope the heat doesn’t keep you awake Misty. 🙏🏻 Sleep well. 🤗😘x

Glad your OH 's physio appt was very thorough spotty. I just can't imagine doing any exercise in this heat. Hope its helpful for you. I did used to go to Pilates and it really helped my back.
The orthotic is helping but i can feel the nerve really irritating and foot so swollen in this heat. 😪im glad im going back to podiatry soon.
Ive just had to say no to a friend's coffee invitation to her back garden as it coincides with my gp appt. Isnt it always the way?. 😪 hopefully ill see her in school hols but its annoying that medical things always get in the way.

I do love him 🐰. I hope your foot pain settles, nothing worse. I walked into a container of floor detergent and my one toe is black. I think the poor nail is about to drop off. My feet are so misshapen from constant breaks of my toes lol. Ahh well they fit the rest of me 🙈😂 xxx

I have too . My feet are so swollen I have white band type marks around my ankles just with the pressure of the odema. I am grateful that in bed I can raise my legs as high as it will go so it drains the fluid. The heat is just awful for odema and I am anxious that my cellulitis will flare up again. Always something isn’t it? I am walking like a robot which is just hilarious. Xxx
Hello cecily, my feet are swollen in sympathy with yours and with similar lines. It feels tight doesnt it?. Its awful how we pay such a price with health problems but this heat is unprecedented. Ive got a cousin who keeps getting cellulitis so i know how painful and disabling it can be. 🤞you escape it as your having to cope with enough. Take care this week, keep as cool as you can.Xx
I am sorry you have it too. It is tight and painful but the worse thing for me is that it affects my balance. I have written a begging letter to my GP for some diuretics. Fingers crossed that she agrees. Until then fan on feet up and lots of water for us both Misty xxx

The podiatrist says leave it 6 months and surgeon said up to 12!. Im sure you've been told similar!. I hope your healing well and you've got your treatment plan in place now.
Im glad foot is being assessed in a month as its very swollen. Orthotic is helping so we'll see.
It seems crazy to be lifting all restrictions whilst cases are rising!. We're being extra careful like im sure you are too. We've all got to do whats best for our own circumstances but really its too hot for anything at the mo.!.
