MistyXx
P.s, just a little update, still waiting for another Orthapod Appt after 5/12 was cancelled!. I've made sure i'm on the list to get one in January, illnesses permitting. π€Foot painful but better on 6mg than 5mg. Right leg still painfree sfter injections.
My Dad is poorly and has lost his hearing suddenly. He's been diagnosed with Meniere's Disease so has improved with treatment. He's got an Audiology appt on monday luckily as its very stressful helping loved ones isn't it?. I'm exhausted so will have a relaxed christmas break. π€Xx

Thanx so much honeybug for all your lovely messages and sorry for taking longer to reply. Thank you too for being such a big support of 'cutie pics'. It means a lot. I couldn't believe it when i read that you have Meniere's too!. Its a horrible condition so i'm very sorry you have it in both ears!. Do you have hearing loss too?. I did read in 50%of sufferers it can affect both ears which is high. Luckily for dad its one ear but his hearing is so poor, we've had to shout and thats exhausting!!. I hope yours is helped by the treatments.
Will be specially thinking of you this christmas , its so tough when you lose a loved one. I hope you have a very relaxed time and i hope i'll have good appt news in the New Year. π€
TAKE CARE, π―ββοΈ and a big hug, Xxππππ€ππππππππππππ¦ππ
Yes I have hearing loss too. I have tinnitus in both ears. Salt makes it worse. Iβm unstable most of the time. I cannot do stairs without support. I fell going down the stairs after giving my mumβs eulogy at her memorial service. I luckily caught myself as I went down but that resulted in my big ole bum up in the air for the attendees to witness. Hubby was supposed to help me down the stairs but I guess he nodded off or was daydreaming cause that didnβt happen.
Iβm sorry you have to yell at your dad. I know his condition makes it hard on everyone. I was told by my ENT that often corn allergy triggers symptoms. Thank God Iβm not allergic to corn.
I donβt take any treatments. Iβm supposed to limit my salt/sodium intake to below1,000 mg daily. Impossible for me to do.
Iβve loved your cutie pics since the beginning. Keep up the good work. Everyone that sees it has to love it too.
Take care sweet friend. Luv u bunches hun.

Good morning lovely honeybug, Thank you for being such a huge supporter of 'cutie pics' right from the start. I've been so appreciative of it and you've helped keep it going. I'm so sorry that your balance is so bad with it. No wonder you can injure yourself so much. Our balance is so important. You don't want to break a hip. Awful you fell inelegantly at your Mum's Memorial service. How is your ankle now?.
Dad has titinnus too but luckily we don"t eat much salt. Its hard to cut down. My parents did well at Audiology yesterday. He's got a new hearing aid so hopefully there'll be less shouting now. Its giving me a permanent headache. He's got no hearing in one ear and he's got an infection in it thats caused the deafness. All from a nasty cold he's just had!!. Never underestimate a cold!!. He's got 5 days of 40mg steroids to see if any hearing comes back and an MRI has been arranged!!. Follow up in a fortnight. Amazing care from NHS as it was an emergency!!
Would so appreciate more of your wonderful prayers dearest honeybug . It would be the best christmas present ever if his hearing returned. Other ear is ok thankfully.
I"m so glad you have a hubby and are not totally alone. Will be specially thinking of you this christmas as its so tough when you've lost close family. Take care EJ. Xx ππππ€ππππ¦
Awwwwβ¦what a lovely reply sweet Misty. π€β€οΈπ₯°πποΈπΏπΈπ¦
Iβve always loved animals the song birds and squirrels are so important to me. I seldom get outside to enjoy them these days. So when you started posting cutie pics I was transformed in my minds eye to being right with those adorable creatures. Giving me the warm fuzzies feeling.
Yes our balance is so very important. Iβve fallen over 50 times that Iβve kept record of and my late dad told me if 2 falls as a toddler I donβt remember. When I lived in and apartment house. It was very high off of the ground so the falls were about 3-4 feet high. One barely missing falling into the open cellar. The other big fall was 35 feet down out of a tree. Landing on my back causing some permanent damage.
Iβm sorry to hear about your dadβs deafness. I agree bad colds can wreak havoc on our bodies. He must of had a doozie. A bad infection will create balance issues. Must be a bad one for 40 mg prednisone. It should make a big difference. Hopefully he will regain at least some/if not all of his hearing after the treatment. So happy for both of you about his new hearing aid. I pray your headache will subside soon. I empathize with you as my late dad lost hearing in right ear while target practicing his new pistol. Refused protective ear covers. After that his good ear started going bad. Refused to see the doctor about it so we yelled at each other when talking as Iβve lost much hearing to tinnitus and Menieres disease bilaterally myself.
I did have a 3 week recovery period so all my boo boos incurred at memorial fall. My ankle twist slowly recovered the first week. I surprised myself by not being embarrassed over falling. Just sorry my rumpus dillyumpus was the last thing I did before sitting back down.
Misty love I pray for you/everyone at least once a day. Iβm a stedfast Believer and praying is essential. You/everyone on HU is now my family. I love you and everyone and truly care about your well being.
I have a few cutie pics myself from the internet. Iβm still a beginner at the tech so how I took the screenshot is how it will appear but they are so precious I keep them to cheer myself up since losing my family. Hope Iβm successful including it with my post
Thanks about my beloved hubby Heβs wonderful and such a blessing too me
Take care my precious sister. Hugs kisses and always prayers and love.

Misty that picture just melted my heart . If only real life was like that! I used to love the Enid blyton books such escapism. I am so sorry about your dadβs hearing and Iβll be thinking of you tomorrow for sure . My wand πͺ will be polished and ready . Sending you much love β€οΈ xxxx
What a fabulous picture Misty - very cute and uplifting. π They are all toasting you with thanks for all the cutie pics you supply for us all throughout the year - whether you feel well or not (and it is usually not) you keep thinking of others and brighten our days with lovely pics.π₯° Thank you Misty!
I hope you get your Orthopod appt next month to help you with all the terrible pain you endure. π€π€ And I hope the audiology appt helps your poor Dad on Monday. Menieres is a horrible condition so I hope the treatment helps him very soon. π€π€

Thank you dear spotty for your wonderful message. I feel very touched that you feel like that about me, i really do. I'm also so pleased that something so simple that i love doing can make such a difference to you all. Its just FAB. TAKE CARE, dear friend and i'll be in touch. Xxπβ€οΈππ

So thanks again Misty on behalf of us all.π You take care too and Iβll reply to your lovely message very soon. β₯οΈππ»π πΌππ₯xx
Thank you Soul for your lovely reply and good wishes. I'm so glad you liked the pic. I hope you had a peaceful christmas. My parents did well at Audiology , dad had a new hearing aid after tests and a short course of high dose steroids which has improved his hearing. An MRI scan has been arranged so we' ll find out what's going on . They think he had a inner ear infection after the nasty cold he'd had. Never underestimate a cold!!.
I do hope your lupus is behaving and all the best for 2025. Updates will follow. Xxπ
Thank you so much cecily for your lovely wishes and all your support of 'cutie pics' from the begining. Yes, i really need some R&R now as i've had to help my parents much more and its tough keeping going when your ill.How are you doing on Aza?. I hope its kicking in better now and you were able to reduce the steroids!. I know you were dreading that!!. I hope you can rest too as you've had such a lousy year.
What did you think of the Strictly Final?. It was so emotional, i couldn't stop crying. Best one ever i thought and they were all winners in the end. I didn't mjnd Chris winning at all as he and Dianne had been an amszing partnership!!.
Did you see that Giovanni has won Itsly's Dancing with the Stars with his partner?. Shows how talented he is too. I hope he comes back next year!.
Have a lovely , peaceful christmas cecily and all the very best for a healthier 2025. Xxππππ€ππππ ππππππ
Hi Misty, the truth is I am struggling on the Aza. Nauseous, headaches, severe fatigue, gut pain. My bladder isnβt emptying , they think my bowel might have prolapsed I just feel dreadful and I am now off the steroids nearly two weeks and I cannot bend my leg again and the pain is reurning. No contact from Rheumatology. They failed to send the sated care agreement to my surgery and I was running out if the Aza. Six phone calls later I finally got a prescription yesterday or I would have had to have stopped it. It really is poor care at best and negligent at worst. Two of my weekly blood tests have been spoiled apparently fallen out if the bag and ended up on the van floor. No one except the lovely nurse at my surgery is even monitoring the results. We have had one GP fir 11,000 patients and although she is wonderful she us run off her feet.
I do hope that you get the rest you need lovely. Are you getting any help with caring for your parents? You can request a carers assessment from the Local Authority and they and you are entitled to help.
So sorry cecily for later reply and for all your health problems still ongoing despite Aza. Awful you may be facing another op for a prolapsed bowel!!. Its truly shocking the healthcare that you don't get in Wales compared to UK!. There's no way that that gp should be alone looking after 11,000 patients, its dangerous and shouldn't be allowed. What happens when she's away? And she'll have burn out and then what. ?.I'm so sorry about your leg pain returning , its awful when that happens, so depressing but you know its inflammatory now!. Thank yoj so much for the very helpful info cecily. Could well be needed sometime.
We had the best Christmas Present as the steroids worked their magic and have improved his hearing. We're watching him though all the time and have certainly learn't how exhausting and isolating caring is!!.
I hope you had a peaceful christmas and π€in 2025 your health improves. Take care. Xxππππ€ππππ€π
Thank you Misty. I have a sigmoidoscopy booked on Monday but I am very fearful that with two days liquid diet I wonβt go at all and they will just send me away again.
I have even had a text today for a Rheumatology appointment. Nice of them to remember I am still alive eh? No calls, no support, failure to send the shared care agreement despite all the calls by myself and emails from my surgery but three months after starting the Aza I will be seen at least.
I am so pleased that your Dads hearing has improved. Donβt wait to get help before you are exhausted lovely. Services are there to help you all. Lots of love xxx
HUGE LUCK cecily for monday's sigmoidoscopy. I loathe those tests as you never know if its enough!!. Just hope it gives you answers and help. That's great to hear from Rheumy with an appt. Hope not too long to wait!. You've given me hope that i'll hear from Orthapods soon. My foot is so painful and i've started getting Heel pain in same foot which is new. Just need to be seen!!. Will keep my π€for you lovely. Take care. Xxπ€ππ€ππππππππ
Thank you. I know I am moaning but honestly I am so miserable. I was taking 7 laxatives plus an extremely high fibre diet and I could not go so no food and two laxatives will do very little. The last tine I had a barium enema I had to have five soapy enemas before they could do it. Now they say clearly on the letter if you are not empty they will not do it. I cannot understand why they do not seem to know my issues from the urgent referral in May and the three letters and two emails sent since yet they sent me Bisocodyl which my GP has told them twice does not work. It is frustrating.
I saw Urology last week. My bladder is not emptying and is very painful. The nurse told me a letter had been typed up inviting me to clinic LAST January and was never sent out. It beggars belief.
I really hope that you are seen quickly. It is debilitating to be in constant pain I know lovely. Please keep us updated and look after yourself xxx
You must be really miserable and fed up with it all cecily. I'm usually better on a liquid diet as the less i eat , the more i can go but we've all got different plumbing. I really do understand how you feel with the Endoscopy Dept!!. That's shockjng wait after urgent referral in May, 7 months!!. Also , they won't use the better laxatives due to cost but they don't work so well and then they blame the patient for not following the instructions when its not their fault. That's happened to mum and others and it brings such added stress to the poor patient!!. Its traumatising so i really do feel for you. No excuse either not to take notice of strict instructions!!. Will think of you tomorrow cecily!. π€you manage it. That's awful about Urology but i would have chased it suffering like that!!. I wouldn't let it go a year!!. We have to be so proactive and don't always feel well enough!. Take care. Xx
Awwww π₯° That pic is just adorable. I seem to be well prepared for Christmas this year. Finished the last of my wrapping, (job I hate!), this morning. Have a rheumatology appointment on Christmas Eve so need to have everything done early this year.
Iβm pleased to hear that your leg is still pain free and your foot isnβt as bad with the increase in medication. I hope your Dad gets well soon and his audiology appointment helps.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year. Xx π» π° 𦑠π¦
Thank you for your very kind wishes ge. I hate wrapping too so well done for doing it early. Good luck for your Rheumy appt, i know you've waited a long time for it. π€Good luck too for travelling. Xxππ€ππ
Thankfully donβt have a lot of travelling to do. Local hospital is a direct bus trip there and back. Spending Christmas at home with my Mum and one of my brothers. π πΌ π π
appointment wasnβt until 3.50pm. Consultant was great and everything went well. Not sure why they had appointments at that time though. The reception desk was empty and the shutters were down down! Also need to go back after Christmas as I couldnβt get bloods done. Phlebotomy was closed! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Xxππ πΌπ

Thank you stills, so glad you liked it. As Merry A Christmas as we can despite pain and worry!!. I do hope you are feeling better. Thank you for all your 'cutie pic' support. See you in the New Year. Xxππ
Absolutely love this pic! Cheers for Christmas and the New Year! Sorry to hear about your dad, but glad they know what it is. Hopefully, he will respond to treatment. The ear that I had surgery on 2 years ago for some reason has lost more hearing againl I keep waiting for it to get better on it own, but will have to probably see the ENT again. He said it could happen again and then a tube willl have to be put in. One side is like being in a tunnel. I hope you get in for your foot soon. It seems we're always waiting for appointments. Thanks again for the wonderful pic. It is definitely one of my favorites. You are amazing for sharing joy through the cutey pix. Hope you have a very happy Christmas and New Year!
Dearest PumpkinI hope you've had a lovely Christmas and thank you for your wonderful reply. You've been such a big support of 'cutie pix' which has really helped keep it going. So glad you liked this one.
I do hope your coping better on Benlysta but oh so sorry that your facing a big procedure for your hearing. Being in a permanent tunnel must be awful. Your so right about there being always something else to have to go thru and so it never feels like a Free New Year, just a continuation of the last one. I've really got that feeling this year waiting for this Orthapod Appt. It will be 6 years of feet problems!!.
My Dad's hearing has come back more thanx to the steroids!. What miracle pills they are for emergencies!. It made our Xmas TBH!!. Just got to see what this MRI might reveal!!.
Thinking of you pumpkin and sending lots of healing hugs too for 2025. Take care and i hope to have better news next time. Xxπ
Thank you weathervane for your lovely message and advice. Really appreciated it. Yes, i would love to join that Woodland Party too, would be fun i'm sure. I'm so glad you've finally shifted that chest infection. That's a long time to be struggling with something. It was a nasty bug that my parents had too which led to my Dad's inner ear infection. Luckily, our christmas was saved by Audiology giving him a course of high dose steroids. It just made our day that he could hear better and we could stop shouting!!. Our senses are just so precious!.
I hope weathervane that you had a relaxed time at christmas and that 2025 is a much healthier year for you.
I"m keeping π€that i get a foot appt in Jan. I'm exhausted looking out for my older parents now and doing their admin. Mum's just been 90 but she's a young 90!!. I'm resting as much as i can as i'm not sleeping well!. Updates will follow. Take care Xxπππ π
