Hospital Update

Good morning fellow lupies went to hospital appointment yesterday had a biopsy taken which was a very painful experience as they had to do it up and through my cervix - had another ultrasound and the consultant showed me a have a large cyst like mass right in the middle of one ovary, the pain I have been getting is the mass is squashing my bladder , he also showed me on the screen another one outside my ovary - they still don’t know if it’s cancer but regardless I have to have hysterectomy and removal of ovaries with in 4 weeks, the next stage is a CT scan and wait for results of biopsy - I asked how long I would be in hospital so he said 5 days as they have to monitor my Lupus as was told I’m a very complicated case 😂 trust me - anyhow I’m pleased that everything is happening so quickly but just another waiting game - I’ve got my head round it all now and feel calmer today- I’m already worrying how Bea and Mira will miss me so much when I go in to hospital 🐶🐶

Thankyou everyone so so much for all your kind comments ❤️

What an ordeal you’ve been through and I empathise with the painful biopsy. I had to have dye inserted into my womb many years ago following my miscarriages and it was very painful.😫 The young male doctor told me to stop wincing and that it wasn’t that painful! The nurse holding my hand rightly said, “How the hell would you know?” 😆 I loved her for that. Did they say when you’d get the result of the biopsy? It is great they are acting so quickly. Of course Mira and Bea will miss you while you are in hospital but they’ll be by your side during your convalescence. 🥰 Keep us posted with how things go SV. Thinking of you and praying for you. Love and big hugs. 🙏🏻💕🤗😘xx

Thanks so much Spotty that made me laugh with the nurse saying that - the consultant actually said this will be very uncomfortable but just breath through it - who would be a woman - so sorry to hear of your miscarriages 😢 have a lovely rest of the weekend 😘

Oh bless you, my heart goes out to you. After trying for 8 years to conceive, numerous operations and so many drugs I started haemorrhaging and was in having a hysterectomy within 3 days. Mine were fibroids, inside and outside the womb. I am hoping and praying that your biopsy comes back clear. I can understand how very scared you must be and emotional. My Crockett ignored me for two whole days when I got back home but he was won around with crab sticks lol. Please be kind to yourself now. I wish there was something I coukd do or say to make things better for you lovely xxx

I came through it lovely and so will you. It is not about me today it is all about you. I just wanted you to know that I understand the fear and the pain. It is a horrible thing to go through and I am here if you ever need to vent. Bea and Mira will miss you dreadfully but as Spotty said they will be by your side throughout your recovery. What better to welcome you home than two wet noses, two wagging tales and plenty of slobbers? Heaven xxx

Just think of all the sloppy kisses SV when you come home .fingers crossed the wait is only 4 weeks and you will soon have it over and done with and be on the road to recovery.when I've come home from hospital marley sticks to me like glue whilst millie nips me ..the vet tells me she is putting me in my place and showing her disapproval. 🙄 xxxx

Thanks SML - Ian bought Bea and Mira to see me when I was still in bed this morning and Mira goes mad when she sees me but this morning Bea really told her off as if to say mum is in pain so be careful it was so sweet - have a lovely weekend xx

Oh SV - I am so very sorry that you are going through all of this right now - gynae procedures even with local anaesthetic can be very uncomfortable indeed. At least they are acting very quickly to get you sorted. 5 days will feel like a long time in hospital but we will be with you online to cheer you up and keep you going through the tough bits. Bea and Mira will be ecstatic to have you home and they will also be very concerned for you too - fur babies make for a great convalescence. Do keep us posted as to how you are feeling at this tricky time - masses of positive vibes and huge hugs to you right now 🤗🤗🤗😘😘😘

It is painful I agree!! I had it done in 2016 n the lady doctor kept saying "just breathe n try to relax" 😹A HCA was holding my hand but the skin was split on that hand n THAT pain helped me to take my mind away a bit from the pain of the procedure!! I had a large mass in my tummy but it turned out to be fibroids thankfully, but I do understand the anxiety waiting causes so I'm glad that they're getting u sorted as soon as possible.

I'm sure Bea will take care of Mira in your absence SV n they will both help u to recover after the op..and of course we'll all be here to keep u company whilst you're in hospital!! 👍🤗

U rest up now n let yourself be pampered 🌈😽😽xx

Oh that all sounds very painful, but - with a bit of luck - you should get the results of the biopsy fairly quickly. At least the painful bit's done and you can move on. I'm better at coping if I can say 'ok, that's done, on to the next bit'

And you have a date for the surgery, which isn't too long to wait these days. Yes, Bea and Mira will miss you dreadfully (and hubby-to-be 🤵 ), but look forward to the lovely welcome you'll get when you return home 🐶🐶. WOW, it'll be amazing!

We're here for you SV, so please keep us updated.

Take care and rest up, 🤗🤗🤗😘😘😘

Hey svfarmer, you have been through the wars. Your great sense of humour is driving you on.

It sounds as though your are in good hands with all the necessary steps being taken swiftly to bring it all to a good outcome.

I pray that your biopsy comes back benign.

Your pooches will definitely be at a loss while you are in hospital, but hey, how much joy will the feel on the day that you walk back through the door.

We are all thinking of you and hoping that everything goes smoothly.

Take Care

Stay Safe x

svfarmer, Every hospital visit makes me crazy leaving my fur babies, but when I return, they are even more loving and caring than before. I know Mira and Bea will be like that for you. I also had large fibroids removed in a complete hysterectomy and they were benign. I so hope you will have the same outcome. After the surgery, be so gentle with yourself and if you don't think you are recovering as you should, do not delay getting back to the doctor's. I had a lot of pain after the surgery, but thought it was normal and tried to be brave and tough. Then on the first follow up, the doctor realized I was not healing internally and I should have listened to my body and taken it much easier. Then the healing took many months. So take it easy.

Many special healing hugs.

svfarmer in reply to Pumpkin2009

Thanks Pumpkin for the good advice yes I will have to take things very easy and make sure Bea and Mira don’t jump on my stomach - they are both such cuddly lap dogs xx

in reply to svfarmer

When you get home after surgery sit with a good bed pillow across the whole sore area then hopefully doggy cuddles won’t hurt 🐶

Thinking of you, I’m pleased you sound really positive. Take care 🙂

SV -

Sounds like they are moving fast and they are taking extra precautions in view of your lupus. You must be in a lot of pain with that cyst pressing against the bladder.

Are you on steroids?

I know Bea and Mira miss you but, like us, they want you to be well cared for!

😘 Kay

Thanks so much Kay no I’m not on steroids am on methotrexate injections - how are you doing ? X

That’s good. Better to go into the surgery on no steroids and only the methotrexate. Let us know when they set a date.

What a horrible hand you have been dealt SV. I don’t have much to say except I send you well wishes and a quick, uneventful recovery. I’m sure the pups will understand. Their sense of time is warped by a very strong short term memory reliance.

Sending so many hugs. I do hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Sending much love your way as you worry for yourself and your dear dogs over the coming days.

After my hysterectomy the surgeon wouldn’t let us ladies go home until we had gone up and downstairs AND lifted one of the ward’s chairs in the air!! It was to prove how strong our stitches were! I refused and told him I had bulging discs and wouldn’t normally lift anything too heavy, but also after the op I had painful constipation and that was worse than anything from the op. My tip would be take laxatives maybe prior to the operation, if your surgeon agrees. I did get them once I asked of course.

I wish you well

Thank you for remembering my foot svfarmer. It has healed really well but ive suddenly got different pain that limits my walking still. Ive just seen the surgeon who says it can take up to a year for foot recovery after an op. Imagine then the healing time you will need!. He's recommended podiatry and says they'll sort me out. Luckily i was already on their waiting list so i rang and got an appt for next week. Im really grateful its soon!.

I do hope Bea and Mira are giving you lots of extra cuddles. You will miss them whilst in hospital. Im really sorry your having to go thru this. Ill keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Keep safe. Xx

Take care Xx
