New Dr. Update

So, I went to see an immunologist on March 22 and she ordered a bunch of labs to check for food allergies and inflammation and some immune workup along with IgE Respiratory Panel because I have trouble catching my breath at times especially after climbing the flight of stairs to my apartment. She did a lung function test and I didn't do to well and she determined that I had some inflammation in my lungs for some reason and gave me an Albuterol inhaler and it has made a hug difference. She also swabbed my nostrils and skin to check for staph colonization. She started me on Vit D3 since I am deficient in vit D. I am glad that some suggested that I go see this specialist since she is being very thorough. I can't say that I believe that she 100% took me serious when I said that I know that something new is going on, because of all these new symptoms. She did not order any Lupus test even though I straight out asked her about it. Maybe she will find out some things to my puzzle more than my Rheumy. I am slowly feeling better finally after 4-5 months of feeling like I just can't make it any longer and barely making it through the day at work. I have decided to do some things on my own and hope that I can get some help from everyone. I am going to do a more holistic approach and add vitamins and minerals and whatever else to my treatment. I have already added the D3 10,000IU daily, Turmeric Curcumin 500mg daily, Magnesium Glycinate 1600mg daily, Amino Acid daily, Omega-3 Fatty Acid daily. I just started these a week ago and I have so much more energy I can not believe it. My co-workers keep asking what I'm taking because I look and act so much better. I think this will be a good addition. If there are any other suggestions that someone has come across I would love to hear them. I just am so desperate I had to try something. I am now in school 2 eve a week and working fulltime. I am going to make some changes with my job, because it is just to much physically demanding and I just found out that they can send me to our employee health office to have tests done to see if I am able to still perform my job duties. If not they can let me go. Which I understand their point, but I don't do any of my duties because of my physical limitations. I just ask for help or do the best I can and pay for it later. Just recently I had such a bad day and it was a sat, so I don't work on sat, that I could hardly get around with my cane. My leg muscles hurt so bad and were so weak it was unbearable. It took me 10 mins to get from my car to my apartment when normally it takes about 2. I have realized that there are other people dealing with the same things through this site. I mean I always knew there were by working in healthcare, but I don't see or talk to them unless a patient comes in every once in awhile like me. I am so glad to have met everyone on here, but I am so sorry that all of you have to go through these things everyday. You have made such a difference in my life. This site was a last effort for help. I didn't know what to do. I latterly thought many times about ending my life right before I joined. But now I have some hope that at least I have people to talk to who understand me and don't say stuiped things like "well just drink more water" or "It's good that you walk so much at work". They just don't understand and it hurts me when they say these things. Thanks everyone so much. I will let everyone know what the Dr. says on April 19th with my blood results.

Hi wildcats

Great to read your immunology appointment was so thorough , hopefully you will get more help once all the test results are in. Good she's helped your breathing already. Do be careful about adding too many vitamins/,supplements to your treatment plan because if your put on prescribed medication you can have interactions. You'd have to get pharmacy advice on this. Glad though that what your taking has helped, it's all a big juggling act!.

Sorry you are having work problems, maybe if you could reduce your hours it would help. I'd just like to add that if you do have to see O. Health , if there's anything you want to discuss, contact Citizens Advice who have employment specialists who can help. There website is also very good for info with links to other organisations who can help.

Good luck for your results, hope you get more help and keep us posted. X
