Has your GP prescribed supplements?
If so, make sure it's iron sulphate which is more gentle on the digestion than some types, & that you have vitamin D3, cholecalciferol, & not D2 which is synthetic.
It's important that you take the supplements with food that will help absorption, & in the case of iron, well away from foods that contain other minerals such as calcium in milk, or tannins in tea & coffee.
Iron is absorbed better when taken with vitamin C. If you eat it with an orange that will help, & will also provide your body with important folate. I eat an orange or grapefruit mid-afternoon inbetween lunch & my evening meal, & take my iron then.
Vitamin D is best absorbed when eaten with foods containing fat. I take mine when I eat nuts & seeds with a meal, or sometimes something cheesey.
Yes my gp prescribed HuxD3 20,000 IU
I took iron supplements and iron infusions- did the trick.
My vitamin d is 23 and I know I have to take this high dose of d3 . Main thing I want to know is there is any side effects of taking high vitamin d
