Hello,

I’m suffering from a lot of stuff and everything happened together so it was about 2 years ago I had a huge abdominal pain and body odor which was weird my doctor told me that I have “Helicobacter pylori” aka germs inside stomach, I got treatment but the pain didn’t go away but the body odor did get less then before, so I went to see another doctor and I did a stool test and it was positive he said the stool test it’s not 100% right and we have to do Gastroscope, he did it and there was nothing wrong so he assumed that I have IBS and I did start taking the medications but nothing changed at all it got worse cause now I have strong pain in my right abdominal and sometimes left and keens pain and uterus pain , ear , loss of appetite which I lost 7 ponds in one month, and I still have body odor but less. I visited another doctor couple months ago and he said the same I have IBS. It doesn’t make any sense to me cause IBS pains should be in the left not the right and I have pain even when I’m not stressed out or mad. I need help to get rid of my body odor out and my abdominal pain for real.

Hi 1one ,

Welcome to the Healthy eating forum. I am so sorry to hear you're experiencing those symptoms. I don't really know what to suggest to you, as you've clearly been consulting regularly with various GPs, and they've mentioned IBS - I know there are some information pages in the NHS website (connected to this forum) - and you've probably already seen them, but if you want to take a look, there is some information on IBS here:

nhs.uk/conditions/irritable...

Maybe once you've read around more, you can find a specialist who can help you. There is also a website called Patient.co.uk which can be quite helpful, regarding providing information leaflets as well.

I realise that may not be what you're looking for, but I hope it's helpful in some way.

Zest :-)

You poor lamb!

Heliobacter pylori is quite hard to get rid of once it's established. It has the effect of reducing stomach acid so that food isn't broken down very well, which may be the cause of your abdominal pain. Antibiotics are known to cause digestive problems after use. If you don't have a good diet that's rich in natural foods, your problems could be related to toxic bacteria in your gut, where your pain is. I hate them, but it might be the case that you need further antibiotics to help get rid of it, as well as eating a regular supply of good probiotics from live yoghurt to help fight the infection naturally. This article explains more about H, Pylori, & what you could do:

suzycohen.com/articles/get-...

I spotted a post on another forum recently about someone having unusual body odour. This could be related to your digestion issues. Perhaps read through the replies on this link to see what people have recommended:

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

One person suggests it could be a lack of vitamin B12, which would link in with your H. Pylori infection & explain your loss of appetite. Your GP should be able to order a blood test for this, & advise you on what to do next. Ask for a copy of your blood tests, & post them with the ranges that are in brackets, on the Pernicious Anaemia Forum. It would be good to have your folate levels tested as this vitamin works in conjunction with B12. Also your iron, ferritin, & vitamin D. The first two can become low if they're not digested & absorbed well, & a lack of vitamin D is a also a very common reason people feel poorly.

Whatever the doctors & results say, it's really important for you to try to eat well & look after yourself carefully. This means avoiding processed food, especially things that contain artificial sweeteners which harm good gut bacteria. Try to eat lots of fresh fruit & vegetables, & get enough protein from healthy sources. Some people find relaxation from things like yoga helps IBS symptoms, but it's essential you have the cause checked out!

Please ask if you don't understand anything I've written, or what's in the links!
