How do I Cope or Process?

First day trying this out and hoping for the best... How do I cope? I know this is such a broad statement, but how can I process anything? I've told my story a hundred times to so many people; how do I process what I am saying rather than telling once again? Any and all help is appreciated.

Hi. I can only offer my view, which I hope you may find helpful. I have found EMDR has been incredibly effective and life changing, precisely because it reprocesses the memories and stops them overwhelming you.

Before EMDR, I went to Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and to individual sessions with a psychologist and both of those made things worse. It's vital to see a practitioner who is trained and experienced in trauma focused therapy. There is trauma focused CBT and counselling, but I chose EMDR because of the reprocessing element - I didn't just want to learn strategies to manage difficulties, I wanted reprocessing to happen.

EMDR is very powerful, very effective and very strange, but it is one of the best things that I have ever done.

Best wishes. 🙂🌸

I agree with what Marnee said-reprocessing therapies like emdr are often a necessary part of this process with a good trauma therapist. there are others too like nlp and somatic experiencing-you can do some research online to see what speaks to you. A lot of people have felt what you do.
