Best friends, Family members, awesomeness....

My best friend keeps me going. She follows me wherever I go to protect me and love me. I like to do the same for her. She loves to go for walks and I love to watch her get so excited to go. She lights up for her car rides and walks. It is the thing that start my day in a positive direction. She is the sweetest thing to me and my family. She is very protective of us as well so I consider her more then a member. It was like she was sent here just for me . Her boyfriend ( my parents pup) is kind of the perfect lil soul mate. Like Yin and Yang they just compliment one another. Another more then a member of the family. They both distract me in the best ways possible and help me take in the simple joys of life.

If it's comfortable, I'd love to see a picture of her! She sounds adorable! :) I get everything you are saying about what a great companion she is.

You know I am kind of enjoying the anonymity of all of this right now. It allows me to feel a little bit more free when I speak. A lot of people know me by my love of dogs. It's a rare few that really get how important animals are to us. They are just furry little family members who communicate in a different way :) Your lucky if you are able to understand because when they open up they only bring out the best in you.

I hear you - do what's comfortable. Oh yes, the animals do take care of us in a whole different way. Mine are a constant source of support! :)

That's awesome! I always love hearing that! What kind of pups do you have?

I have 3 cats. Two indoor, and a beautiful outdoor rescue that I've started caring for. :)

You know when I was little my family had a cat named kitty who lived to be 25 years old. She was a wild cat my parents found in the woods. She was used to going outside so one day me and my best friend followed her to see where she goes. She went down in the drain outside and we freaked out. Told my mom so she would pull out the crow bar and get her out. We got all set up and we were talking to her down in there (this is when I was 6 btw lol) then as soon as my mom lifted the lid she ran out the original way she came in lol She was one cool cat! I bet you really have an awesome bond with cats if you are up to 3 now. I think rescues are the best kind of family members.

I love your kitty story! Yes, they are smart and know how to get out of where they hide.

That's what happened with my rescue. Litter of kittens born at my apartment somewhere. Mom and other kittens disappeared, leaving a beautiful black kitten alone. He would duck into a storm drain when people came near.

I could see him out my window, and something said I might be able to connect with him. 3 months later, he comes to the porch outside my apartment for food, follows me around, and when I pick him up he purrs like crazy.

He's going to have to stay an outdoor cat. My 2 just don't want to share the apartment. But when I think of how much better his life is now, I just smile! :)

That is awesome! My pup is all black too! If being an outdoor cat makes him happy then he must be living it up now. Food and water given by a loving caring owner. I don't think it gets much better than that. You never know maybe after seeing him outside your other kitty cats will be interested to meet him.

How cool that your pup is all black as well! Oh yes, this cat is in high cotton. He's let me start picking him up, and decided he loves it. He gets food, water, treats, and a bowl of milk each day. No wonder he runs up promptly when I call him!

The indoor cats have met him - I let them come out onto the breezeway and interact with him. He's got the kitten frisky, and hasn't yet learned how to play with other cats, so they're a little puzzled. Very cute! :)

aw he seems like he just wants to be apart of a family and now he has that! :) Maybe a toy would help interaction? something they all could chase and work as a team to get. Like maybe a motorized mouse or lil laser pointer?

in reply toitsmytime

Oh yes, this cat wants to be in on the action with the other cats. He just came inside the apartment a little and looked around, and one of my cats was sniffing him. He's chasing a laser pointer, but the other cats have gotten too sophisticated to chase it any more. I think he will win them over! :)

You are very lucky to have her in your life 😀
