So now I have a canker sore on the same side with the slight discoloration near my wisdom tooth, and now I'm in fear that it won't heal, and I read weeks ago on Google that if u get a mouth sore that won't heal can be a sign of oral cancer π©Now suddenly I have a canker sore as of 3 days ago π©What if it doesn't heal?????? now I'm so worried that what if it not healing is the first sign I'll have that its Oral Cancer smh my dentist told me not to worry about the discoloration I showed him, he said it was normal or could be from the pressure of my wisdom tooth, but Idk if it's always been there or not, now I'm scared as hell that this canker sore is a sign of things getting worse or advancing and I don't know what to do π©I keep thinking I slightly feel my throat trying to hurt too but I can't tell if it's I'm my mind or real π©π©π©π©
Scared again π: So now I have a canker sore on... - Heal My PTSD
Scared again π
Relax hun. Breathe. Your anxiety is causing your throat to hurt But you know this though. Anxiety can cause physical symptoms don't feed the fear. Just remind yourself of that .
Canker sores will always heal. Just make sure you take the necessary steps to keep it healing. Everything is fine . Canker sores are super super common and will be gone faster than it came . You know that's your health anxiety making you think otherwise . So remind yourself of that . You don't have oral cancer boo. Just a painful sore that can be cured . Get some orajel and zen . Because you're going to cause yourself to panic and I don't want that for you. Remind yourself that your ok.... because you are .
Thank you so much girl.... your message really calmed me down a bit.. girl I'm over here going in and out of depression about this smh I've been putting salt on it. Once last night and once today and it just still hurts and isn't improving and it just making me scared like what if it just doesn't heal at all and I find it it's because of that c word π©But I'm trying, I'm going to take your advice.. thank you so much...
Yes I've been there before with the canker sores and everything went through my head I ended up going to urgent care for it cause I thought for sure something major was happening but he reassured me that I was fine and gave me some numbing meds (like Orajel but way stronger) and it was gone in a week. I know it's easier said than done but don't freak out. Be patient with your body just because it doesn't heal in our preferred time frame doesn't mean it won't . It will and you will be ok. Take of yourself
if it has only been there a few days or weeks? it will heal. They are talking like six months. not sure how long it has been? just a cold sore, guess you have what I have sometimes, too, jumping to worst conclusion. It is just cold sore, will heal. not to worry
It's not a cold sore, it's a canker sore, it's been there for there 3-4 days π©I'm trying to not worry
I so wish we didn't worry about things.
canker sore. yeah, I hope you don't worry. It will heal. I have had them last a two weeks in my mouth. Give it another 5 days, I bet you it will begin to get better. do you feel like that with many symptoms, like it may be cancer?
I understand, because with fibromyalgia, I have done that.
but honestly, I think it is just a canker sore, takes a couple weeks sometimes, no worries, it will heal. I know panic, but in this case, I really think it is not to worry. To feel you are doing something, sometimes that helps me, take action, you could buy a topical healing ointment at walgreens or health food store, and put it on it daily...?
Try to stay out of doctor Google! I've had far to many illnesses as a result of my self diagnosis that now I rely on my doctor to diagnose me.
Excellent advice to stay away from Dr Google from Lindyloo. As Mark Twain noted: "Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint.". RyRywifey , Google returns results to you based largely on how many people have previously gone to that website. The accuracy of the information is not a factor, so you can easily find totally wrong information or perhaps just way out of date information.
RyRywifey, you've had excellent advice from other members and you can always see the doctor in a week or so's time if the mouth ulcer/canker sore hasn't healed by then (which it very likely will).
Given you are so concerned about cancer, empower yourself by doing what you can to reduce your risk of developing cancer. You can greatly reduce your risk of developing oral cancer by not using tobacco and not drinking alcohol in excess. From this 2008 article from a reputable source "The evidence indicates that of all cancer-related deaths, almost 25β30% are due to tobacco, as many as 30β35% are linked to diet, about 15β20% are due to infections, and the remaining percentage are due to other factors like radiation, stress, physical activity, environmental pollutants etc." : ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
I'm also the admin of a chronic cancer community and we regularly have newly diagnosed members who are very stressed because they have read wrong or way out of date information. After their diagnosis, a common reaction is to get fit and improve your diet, but by then it's too late.

Well we have sunshine today yippee! So washing going out on the line ~enjoy rest of weekend ( without the company of Dr Google he ain't welcome) π·
Canker sores are painful which I'm sure it is, redness with a whitish yellow sore in the middle . Rinse with warm salt water , 5 times a day. It can take a couple weeks for it to go away , but it will.
