Hi everyone as anyone else had this .. i had a while now not sure anyone remembers me saying had burst blood vessels and i have lots of thread veins around my ankle. i was asked have i had an injury? nope not at all then came home slept and thought well when i was a child under 9yrs of age i did sprain my ankle i have done so many things had lots of broken bones over the years .
i walk on it and it just gets fatter the fluid builds up and my leg looks fat and i am very slim petite build, i never noticed it one of my girls did they just piped up ..caroline your legs fat!! i was like what lol .. looked and could not really see so had to sit and look .. but its been going on a while now and Dr thinks tendonitis as i have a pulse in my feet so not thrombosis but asked me what i have had before and i said inflamiritiritis or something forgotten it was a red inflamed vein from groin to ankle really very painful had a stocking and walking stick as puttin any pressure on my foot caused pain, i had just given birth this was 12 yrs ago now though, i have lots of veins unfortunately that stand out a mile but dont bother me i still put a skirt on! (in summer)
my ankle gets pain and the calf but on?off i have really rested since yesterday and looks fine, given me some inflamatory gel to put on insists i try it .
Does anyone have this and has vanished or can last longer as i have read which i so hope not as i so need to be on my feet a lot and driving and doing a lot of stairs lol.

Hi fairycazzie, I suffer from a similar kind of thing. Mine gets bad if I am on my feet a lot and can get worse in hot weather or when I am on a long journey. I also have broken veins on my ankles. The only thing that helps is to elevate my feet. I sleep with a pillow under the end of the mattress and that often helps. If the swelling doesn't go down after a couple of days I would go back to your GP in case it is something more serious than fluid retention. Hope you recover soon! All best wishes. Jane x
Hia thanks yeah Dr said keep eye on it as it started just foot/ankle now spreading . I have been doing those things as been going on a while xx think like everything else is degeneration too can last couple weeks to chronic forever lol nooooo

Hi , I had a bad ankle for a few weeks, it kept swelling up every time I stood on it, but it was very painful, had too rest it, it still plays up, it was an old injury tendon related, I reckon that was tendonitis as its my tendons that are damaged, had to buy comfy Clarks ugg boots!!!!! Not cheap but are helping alleviate the pain when walking, it's worse since Fibro diagnoses
Take care Nicki xx
I read all your posts ,just can't think off words sometimes to comment, your very articulate and sorry for jour losses fairy xxxx
Hi Fairy, I started with a swollen and painful Achillies tendon in my right foot and bursitis in the ball of my left foot two years ago. I was told by GP and podiatrist that my arches have colapsed, flat feet basically, I wear boots cheaper than ugg but along the same lines with special inner soles made by the podiatrist, and a support bandage from my toes up to my knee if the swelling and pain are bad...but not at night. It is rubbish coz I cant wear nice shoes any more and cheap shoes are a no go, my most comfortable shoes ....my daughter calls them bowling shoes lol are by Josef Stieff, they make a range of sandles too. Trouble is you can make your feet so much worse with tight fitting shoes, trainers are supposed to work too, but thats a step too far for me.I have a general tendonitis which affects my elbows etc ..Good luck I hope yours gets better soon xx XH
