Too true ... Squeaks in agreement and shuffles off to find some tasty dandelion leaves
Hi gins,
yes i'm on those and find they really help, but mine are for muscle twitches and restless legs, which mostly affect me at night....just when i'm nodding off!!!.
Maybe a bit of helpful info...who knows. I went to the hosp about 3 weeks ago and was diagnosed with arthritis in my knees and one hip. I had an injection in one knee to reduce inflammation and have to go back in 6 weeks for updates etc. I mention horrific pain in my hip, that was actually more painful then my knees...nil response was the answer!!!! Painkillers didn't really help me either, unless i took that many co codamol i was virtually comatose.
A couple of days later i bent to turn the tv on and eeekkk, what a pain shot up my back and down my leg, really made me go white and feel sick.
not much improvement over the week end and no chance of a docs appt as i wasn't actually on my last legs..(haha no pun intended)so i booked to see an osteopath. best thing i ever did, he said because i was not walking properly due to pain in my knees, it had thrown everything out of line and when i bent over the big muscle down the side of my back and my hamstring had gone into a spasm and locked. He was soooo understanding, took a full medical history and was very helpful re fibro, even gave me some info i didn't know. a few gentle muscle stretches and other stuff and at least i could walk without excrucitaing pain, and after a couple of days i really felt considerably better. have been going once a week (all i can afford!!) for more unknotting muscles and stretches which is really helping.
all the docs did last time i had back, leg and hip pain was fill me full of painkillers which did nothing and i had to wait months to see the physio at the hosp by which time i'd turned a nasty shade of grey due to pain.
Might be worth checking an osteopath out.
Hope you feel better soon
Take care
Jan xx
