Tegretol

I’ve had Trigeminal neuralgia for 2 years and currently take 800mg of Tegretol. Has anyone tried any canaboid treatments in place of Tegretol or other pharmaceutical drugs? I’d prefer to stop using Tegretol as it has some serious side effects.

I wonder if anyone else has the same problem with their supply of Tegretol? My doctors pharmacy does not seem able to get it for me and I have had to go miles out of my way to get my prescription fulfilled out of town.

I was taking tegretol and Keppra until about 5 years ago when they changed me to Lamotrigine. I have been experiencing some strange symptoms, I didn't realise that they were focal seizures, but it now makes sense. I am trying to find out more about them.

Fibromyalgia and I find lack of sleep really affects these and makes them worse) The first tablet I take after Levothyroxine in the morning is Lansoprazole (which to my knowledge needs a 4 hour gap between Lansoprazole and Levothyroxine) and the tablets I take in the evening include Magnesium and Tegretol

moved except the protein in the urine i really am drinking pregablin 150 mg every 12 hrs and is the only that reduces the itch dermatologist he gave me these creame la roche lipikar BAUME AP+M and hidroxing 25 mg every 12 hrs with levoritizine 5mg witch it doesnt seem to work and nephrologist gave me tegretol

I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia today and put on 100mg of carbamazepine (Tegretol) which the GP wants to increase gradually. Apart from the horrendous pain, I am worried about carrying on with my job.

Anyone on this? If so is it successful at stopping electric feeling cramos and jerking in legs? Thanks

Tegretol negatively interacts with lamotrigine, and all it took was a new Dr to spot the interaction, rather than hospital Drs and my previous neuro 🙄😒 this new neuro told me this over the phone, and the reason why I was prescribed tegretol: it was to help with my spasming legs!

He has been advised he had to go off his medication for epilepsy, which is Tegretol. We’re obviously not thrilled about it but know he can’t take it with the Acalabrutinib. So my question is, has this happened to anyone else, and did you take an alternative to Tegretol? Thank you!

I do suffer seizures occasionally which are controlled by Tegretol (carbamazepine) but this is nothing likes those so don’t think it’s related to that.

But I’m loath to try it as I know with certainty that Tegretol works. Does anyone have any comparative tinnitus experience with Tegretol and Topiramate?

I’m 6 days into aciclover and tegretol. I’m also using alcohol free mouth wash several times a day, but the pain is miserable. Paracetamol barely touches it and I’m so weak and wobbly and feel so poorly. Can’t get a telephone appointment with the doctor until tomorrow.

(Sept 2020 – 332 u/L) I take Tegretol for Bipolar so it has always been expected but because of feeling poorly for so long, I am worrying about now. The GP almost expects it now so they never mention it. (by-the-way I never drink alcohol)

I was released as an outpatient quite quickly I guess and have spent the last 4 years taking mycophenolate and tegretol because of the seizures I had. I have no recollection of my time in hospital or about 3 months prior either, along with some minor gaps in longer term memories.
