What is causing my lower right back, hip and leg pain?

For a few months i've been experiancing a horrible pain that is in my lower right back, hip and then down my right leg. It feels like a constant ache especially when i am lying down in bed it's particularly painful! The pain down my leg once it gets to my knee really really aches ~ i do have Osgood Schlatters and various other things wrong in my knees i don't know whether that is making the pain worse but i also feel it in my calf. I was wondering what is causing this because it is really starting to get quite painful

Hi frankieturner123

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you are having this horrid problem at the moment and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.

I am not a doctor so I cannot say for sure what your problem is? But it sounds a lot like some kind of sciatica or compression of the sciatic nerve? I think this is something that you really should discuss with your GP? I have pasted you the NHS Choices link below relating to this:

nhs.uk/conditions/sciatica/...

I want to wish you all the best of luck with this and I hope that your GP can get it sorted for you?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi I have this too it's caused by nerves being pinched in the spine in my case. Been living with it for almost 6 years now as doctor after doctor told me there was nothing wrong. Finally - after 4.5 years of fighting for an open MRI I got one. And all hell broke loose.

They found I have DDD and spinal stenosis, and need a cage around my spine. They want to prop me up with rods and screws..

So don't leave it - get it checked. It could be a problem with your back. Good luck with it and feel better soon

I get pains from down my lower back which goes down the backs of both legs due to having a protruding disc pressing down on the nerves in my legs.

Hello Julie63

Intermittent. Such pain may be slowly progressive.

Lower Back (BUTT) issues are due to a lack of mobility in the trunk and hips, or a weakness in supporting core muscles.

Do exercise and yoga in morning and evening. Massage your body regularly.

Try to use exercise with foam rollers, it is more effective for your back pain.

It must be something about your discs and nerves, spinalpainrelief.com/ ,there is good info about back pain causes but I only recommend offlin(chiropractor) service , Use web sites only for information, do not try to use any technique that can be dangerous for you.

Sounds as if you might have one or more ruptured disk's in your back :( Get it checked out. If the pain is too much try getting a referral to a pain clinic. It really made my life bearable!!! Hope this helps sweetheart!!! xxxxx Mitzi
