Recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia, have pain that none of the pain killers can touch

If anyone has any advice please this will be most helpful. I have a tens machine but my skin feels like it's sunburnt so can't use this as often as I would like to.

Hi Jontyhull34

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted for you below a link to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

I really would talk to your doctor or medical specialist about pain killers, as what works for one may not work for another. It may also be beneficial to ask for a referral to a pain management clinic? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Monty I was having a particularly bad pain day yesterday which my pain meds didn't touch. I got some relief from a bath bothersome salts added to it. It was the first time that I'd tried one and although it didn't get rid of the pain it certainly made it feel more manageable.

Hi Thanks for your reply, I have hot baths regularly but don't use salts so I will give them a go.

Hello and welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can find advice, support, help and understanding.

Skin sensitivity is unfortunately one of the bains in life for a fibro sufferer and is not easily treated.

Some years ago, a physio told me to start desensitising my skin by brushing soft objects across it regularly. I had acute sensitivity on one leg after a knee replacement, and it did help to do this, first with a soft make up brush then with a light chiffon type scarf and so on.

Hope this helps.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.
