Right it's bed time again
night night ...
Hi again David with a bit of luck you won`t read this till morning lol.I hope you understand this when I say after reading some of your blogs I`m getting the feeling you have a fear of going to bed. That I really understand,in the end I started going when I wanted to not when I felt I had to.I excepted the fact that since childhood I had been a poor sleeper, still am.One exercise is to relax as much as you can and focus on your feet tense them up(if youcan do this without pain)then relax do this right up to your head with your mouth ,eyes forhead.may not work straight away but try to keep it up,you never know you maybe like I`ve been able to to and doze off at my hands.Doesn`t work every night but I wont let anything scare me from my bed.All the best David and relax in the knowledge we are all rooting for you.Gentle hugs Butterfly54 xx
Well I'm still wide awake and I'm just laying here thinking to myself what have I got to do to get some sleep your relaxation technics seems a good idea but may I ask how you go about doing them I must say that I always have severe pains in my knees from about tea time onwards
Leave really painful bits out hun.Do you read to take your mind off it or listen to a radio,if something interesting is being talked about you can bet I will drop off for a little while.I never ever get a whole nights sleep and quite often lately because of seperate spinal problems none.I dont work anymore I have no family I`m my own master so I guess I dont get het up about it.you do know with fibro we dont get the restorative sleep we need hence tiredness when we wake.I am not trying to teach grandmother how to suck eggs like me you have studied the lot.But dont put blocks in the way so readily just leave out the sore spots and concentrate on the ones you can.warm hugs to send you off to night night land.now go and try again love Butterfly54
have you tried any lavender ,you can buy sprays and all kinds to relax you ,i know you can get a pillow mist spray from avon i think there is a lot of products out there anything worth a try x
Sorry to hear about your sleeping probs, David. I was the same as you for a good 20 years and ended up being a Catch 22 situation.
I see you don't medicate at this time, but I kept on at my GP to help me because my mental health was suffering. We finally settled on low doses of Amitriptyline (sic), increasing the doses until they relaxed me enough to drop off. Things have improved since.
Meanwhile, I found that relaxing on a comfy sofa or chair, under a warm fleece or duvet, with a heatpad soothing whichever part of the body was hurting most, sipping a warm drink and watching some favourite TV programme would eventually lull me to a point where I could at least cat nap periodically through the night. I also found that documentaries had just the right vocal narration that would make me nod off for a bit. It worked even better when I bought a recliner!
I hope you find the magic formula which will help you.
hi david
you can try melatonin, you can buy this from herbalists.
neurologist prof Findley a Neurologist, whom told me to order direct as its cheaper and recommended this site
biovea.com/uk/results.aspx?...
i experienced side effects but everyone is different. you need to talk to your gp first and they all know of it. you must build up dosage gradually. it definitely gets you to sleep
sleep is an absolute must for us. why is gp stopping sleepng tablets when american artcal research is being questioned as stats do not match up with here, Uk has only just stated they will start to review.
i really feel for you. none of us can cope when sleep is poor.
amatriptoline also works but again for me bad side effects. i use one neufopam and one clomazapam.
i wish you luck. let us know how things go xxx
