Has anyone tried a FIR sauna cabinet? I generally keep moving most of the day and the idea of 15 minutes before bedtime in one of these is appealing. I need to take painkillers at night for pain and restless legs and wondered if I might be able to reduce the dose a bit with something like this.
I've looked at them off and on for a few years but with kids left home I now have the space to really think about going for it, but they're not cheap so it would be a big decision. Any experience of using one would be welcome.

Not the sauna - but I just bought a far infrared heated lap blanket. Only used it a couple of times, so difficult to tell how much benefit I'm getting from it (heat always helps me anyway)
I also have an infrared lamp but I rarely use it because I cannot position it properly to get where I need it on my back
Thanks, I've found the same problem with various gadgets, you really need someone else to help either apply it or set it up. I live on my own so while it would be an absolute indulgence, I can make a case for it!
hi Hazel, yes I have one . I tend to use it earlier in the day as I stay in it longer so feel I need a shower and then I have a nap . As that all takes a bit of time I don’t use it as often as I should . I might try the 15 mins before bed. It definitely helps with the pain and it’s relaxing. Sometimes it feels like a life saver. Mine has different colour light therapy and I find the purple one most effective. Although apparently green works for migraines… I’ve only recently read that , so I’ll have to let you know ! I couldn’t live without mine as the doctors are really of no help and just push the heavy meds which is not my chosen method. I hope it you get one it helps you too.
Thanks Nathalie, good to hear from someone who has one and uses it regularly. Now I need to run it past the dermatologist as I had a bad reaction to prescribed light therapy for my eczema a few years ago.
I didn't know you could get an infrared blanket, can you tell me the make and where you got it from please. I've also got a lamp and find the same problem as you with positioning it. Thanks.
I did order the infrared heating pad with jade and some kind of brown stones not that long ago. I only used it once so really couldn’t say if it helps. My problem is my internal thermostat broke and I have been having hot flashes (even though I went through menopause 22yrs ago) in the last month or so. Not sure what is up with that? It has different temperatures settings on it and I had it on too low so didn’t really notice it helping. I have been researching the infrared products on line after having 2 people recommend them. So will have to try the infrared heating pad again on a higher setting. It does take about 30mins to warm up the stones.
