Have you tried accupuncture? This ca have excellent results for long term treatment. It used to be offered free at the pain cliic but that was a few years ago
Have you not been referred to a pain clinic or been put on any stronger medications such as Gabapentin? Codeine is actually a very weak opioid medication. I take Dihydrocodiene and that is 10x stronger than Codeine but as I've been on it a long time now, it doesn't work as well as it used to, plus they don't like to prescribe opiate medications now for chronic pain, however at my pain clinic they say I'm not really on a high dose compared to morphine which they do prescribe to some patients but I would stay away from that, I am not going down that route, it's hard enough trying to lower the Dihydrocodiene as I've built up a tolerance to it now.
Keep on at your GP and ask for further help in regard to your pain levels.
Have you ever been referred to a pain management programme? Unfortunately, medication for Fibro when it helps tends to only take the edge off pain rather than take it away completely. This means that realistically we have to learn ways to manage and live with our pain.
What helps me personally is medication, pacing, exercise /activity, heat, mindfulness, meditation, holistic therapies, weighted blankets, cbd, supplements, homeopathic remedy, distraction etc
Hi I find Tens Machine is very good, Ibuprofen gel will upset your stomach in time as it gets into your blood stream. I take Tramadol and Paracetamol you have to be careful not to take Codeine at the same time. Take care 🙂
