Pins and Needles

Hi to you all, hope everyone hanging on in there.

For 2 years now I've been having daily pins and needles in my head ,face and legs.

It's the most awful feeling ever. The head tingling is with me 24/7 and I'm finding that when I exercise it gets worse.

My face and legs tingle too.

Tingling in my head seems to move about all and every day. It's unbearable.

Had an MRI and it showed degenerative spondylosis of the neck and severly narrowing the right foreamen.

My legs from my kness to my feet tingle sometimes at the same time so does my head.

I''ve started to get neck pain too.

Any advice greatly Appreciated

Thank you and take care

Hi there,if you have suffered for 2 years and had an MRI showing issues. May I ask what your GP said or prescribed to help you.

Unfortunately no one on here is medically qualified to answer your question.

Hi, GP prescibed anti depressants called Amitriptaline to help with nerve pain {pins and needles} but I'm reluctant to take them. He said it was Arthritus in the neck.

Thank you

Hi Dizzytwo, hope you are well .

These are my recent bloods.

GP not doing much apart from giving me Iron meds Ferrous Sulphate 200mcg 1 a day. GP saying B12 in range and dosent need medicating, but I disagree and have now bought my own supplements. All the medics are usless!! Even Endocrinologits.

I have started taking Vit B 12 supplements

Jul 24

Serum total 25-hydroxy vitamin D level 64.8 nmol/L; Total 25OH Vitamin D <25

(I am already Increasing vit D to 3000 daily)

12/9/24

Serum magnesium level 0.78 mmol/L [0.7 - 1.0]

HAEMATINICS

Serum vitamin B12 level 355 ng/L [211.0 - 911.0]

Serum iron level 9.0 umol/L [9.0 - 30.4]; Changed to gender specific reference

ranges on 03.07.19; Outside reference range

Transferrin saturation index 12 % [< 40.0]

Serum folate level 11.3 ug/L [3.0 - 14.4]

Transferrin level 3.1 g/L [2.5 - 3.8];

Serum ferritin level 8 ug/L [10.0 - 291.0]; Ferritin <15 suggests low iron stores or

deficiency

?? poor intake, malabsorption or excessive loss of Fe; Outside reference range

Thank you and 🍁🍁take care

Hi, you've asked this several times over the last couple of years and your early vitamin levels were terrible. Have you had further testing for B12 deficiency (as you are hypothyroid you are very likely to get progressive B12 deficiency and your serum level was poor already) or ferritin as iron looked far from optimal. And what is your vit D level like now? Or did you just start supplementing oral B12 - if so, how much and what form? Not to be advised, if you aren't already, as it will make diagnosis much harder. Cheers

Hi , sorry for late reply, ive been poorly again.. Hope you are well

My latest bloods

Iron and B12 very low, GP has started me on Ferrous Sulphate 200mg 1 a day, she said my B12 is in range and dosen't need medicating. It is far too low and does need treating as it should be above 500. The medics always stick to the bloody RANGES and not one's symptoms.. I have bought my own B12 and B Complex.

I am very tired but can't sleep, especially at night.🦋🦋

Still have this awful tingling in head, face and legs. My Endo wants me to have 24hr urine for Adreanals.

Take care and thank you

Sorry that you've been feeling so rotten. I'm glad you've increased your vit D. Are you gluten free? Presumably they have done a coeliac check but you could still be coeliac even with a negative test or could be non-coeliac gluten sensitive. Is going private an option for the iron etc?

Not what you're looking for?
