Been on buprenorphine patches & have noticed head hair loss.Now changing from 5mg to 15 mg shortly as 5 mg doesn't work on me nor does 10mg.
Not clumps of hair more like loose strands of hair.
Anyone else having these issues etc

Good morning, from what I have read hair loss does not seem to be one of the side effects of this medication.Hair loss is not a side effect that has been reported in clinical trials However, some people who take it have reported having hair loss. It’s not known if bubprhenorphine was the cause.
Some believe due to this medication lowering testosterone it could actually slow down balding in men.
If it's troublesome or a concern maybe you should have a word with the doctor who prescribe it.
Statistically it is far more likely to be the onset of male pattern baldness.
Men all over the world are having those issues.

I’m on 20mg and I have the same problem when I wash my hair rubbing in the shampoo I have a lot of hair in my hands same when it’s dry just rubbing my hand through my hair I have at least 10-15 strands
At last a good person who relates to my condition, thankyou for replying.When just running my hand through my hair dry I to are seeing fine "FALL OUT"
Not on any other medication either.
Have read up on professional medical sites that patches can do this to you.

It is understandable when we have something new happen to us to blame it on our existing conditions.
I ignored a torn rotator cuff for over a year, dismissing the pain as just another fibro thing but what you describe is exactly how my younger brother described his hair loss.
He is very jealous of my lustrous mane but I'd swap his baldness for my fibromyalgia without hesitation.
May I say because someone does not relate to another person's problem or have a different opinion. This does not make a person not nice.
Have a different pain issue, but I've never noticed this but I take 17 medicines a day, for.a fact anti epileptic caused a bald patch when I was 24 and a woman...very small amd only noticeable.if you know its there. The proper German caffeine shampoos help but get the proper German one not poundland copy.
For me 20mcg per hour Butec brand they burn,blister my skin and itch so much, I still get the script a few times a year though as even for a few hours it helps

Now on butec 15 mcgs patches.
Not to put a finer point on it,there cr.ap in the the first degree etc.
Cannot believe there 60% plus more potent then morphine.
They may work for some folk but there doing nothing for me.
As no painkillers work on me,out goes the break through stuff to.
Private pain consultant said if these patches don't work,then there's nothing else anyone can offer me 😞
