Fortunately I do not have those problems but my sister lost quite big patches of hair through stress and ill health (not Fibro)...but it came back in the end and she was blonde!!!! Alopecia I think is what they called it...caused through trauma! x
When I first showed signs of fibromyalgia I had awful hair loss but suffered with awful anxiety then (I was on no meds) - once I gained more control of being anxious it grew back - Neese. x
Hair loss can happen at anytime in life for many reasons you doctor will usually be able to help you .
My doctor is just telling me my Fybromyalgia is getting worse whenever something new starts happening and I would be cute with a bald head and so I'm still looking for answers because I'm not accepting of the answers I have gotten. #searching4answers
I think it is because of the pain and stress we have trying to cope with this illness rather than perhaps the fibro itself. Also as Hidden says I think alot of the medication has something to do with it. I don't know whether fibro is your only illness but there are several that seem to have hair loss as a factor.
I am actually going out tonight, whoopee, a rare occasion and have spent the last half hour trying to make my once luxurious crowning glory look fuller and so you can't see the thinning especially around the parting. I have resorted to the old trick of changing the parting to the other side and it has helps with a good puff of hairspray of the very holding variety.
Do hope you get some answers to this.x
I'm not currently on any medications because I stopped everything. I had so many bad side affects and so I try To live without meds and it's really hard and I don't go out much at all because I don't have energy to to do much even though I take many vitamins daily that would give the average person much energy. I try not to get stressed with things and I try to stay positive. Thank you and have a great time when you go out
Hi DWONDERFUL1
Like the other replies I know stress is a factor and sometimes pain causes stress and stress can make our pain worse, a vicious circle really.

I did go through this myself and was found to be hypothyroid, hair loss is well known with the condition, it may be worth getting this checked out there are many causes xx
Hi DWONDERFUL1
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I have pasted you an excerpt from *Psychology Today so I genuinely hope that you find this useful:
*In CFS and fibromyalgia patients, as in any chronic illness, a very common cause of unusual hair loss is a condition called "Telogen Effluvium." This is when the normal cycles of natural growing and falling out of the hair follicles become jolted out of their usual random phase due to illness.5 Apr 2011
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with finding some answers to this and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
DWONDERFUL1, not sure if Fibro is the reason my hair falls out! My hair has always been fine and thin. But it was enough until In my 20's my hair started thinning out in the crown per my hairdresser! At 20, embarrassing. Could have been hyprothyroid (spelling??) even then but not diagnosed until 46, same time first possible diagnosis of Fibro.. My hair always falls out at this time of year (Fall/Autumn), for some reason! Stress most definitely makes it worse at any time of the year. From the time I learned and diagnosed with Fibro have felt probably always had Fibro. As for meds, I take Neutron, Tramadol (as needed) for fibro and steroids injections for OA. Blood pressure meds, Synthorid(thyroid), Asthma inhaler, Singular (asthma med too). Vitamin D3, an B12, prescribed by doctors. Probably all these drugs all mixed together possible could make thinning hair. HAHA But being 70 (well almost) too, doesn't help either. LOL
Sorry for your distress, dear.
Thank you
I don't really know, I have a bit of hair loss but I am also going through the menopause which can also cause hair loss too. I think it would be a good idea to go and see a doctor who might be able to explain the reason for your hair loss better love Andrea xxxx 😩😩
