Buprenorphine

I started to take Buprenorphine on 14th October and have been tapering the Ropinirole. I am now taking 4mcg of Buprenorphine a day in four separate doses. I have cut back the Ropinirole to 0.5mg a day in two 0.25mg doses.

My GP still refuses to prescribe Buprenorphine even when Dr Fackrell has sent e mails and a letter recommending it. All of you who are lucky to get your GP to prescribe it do you live in England because I live in Wales and apparently different rules apply here.

My GP refuses to prescribe Buprenorphine even though Dr Robin Fackrell prescribed it for me privately. He wrote to my GP but still they refuse. I have seen that some of our members have been prescribed it on the NHS.

anyone using Buprenorphine for RLS? Please share your results.

His recommendations included Buprenorphine (which is what hubby was hoping for), and surprisingly our GP prescribed it!! So the 5mcg/hour was in place by Wednesday this week.

My private consultant wrote to my GP requesting that they prescribe the above but they won't. Can anyone tell me if there is evidence to show my GP that presribing this would be beneficial.

so I took my first dose of Buprenorphine last night. I started with 1 mg,that wasn't enough so I took the other half ( I have the 2 mgs) This stuff is amazing! Not a single jiggle of the legs! I'm going to drop to 1 mg tonight again and see.how that goes.

I've got the Subutex version today and it says not to cut,its just the2 mg. Can I still cut or just take the whole pill( under the tongue) thanks

( and to cut a long story short) I was with a pain management consultant in Dublin because I have to have a hip replacement, and I told him my predicament with the rls & buprenorphine, and guess what, he prescribed the buprenorphine patch!

Which is better to treat rls buprenorphine or methodone?

Now been taking buprenorphine since June and reduced gabapentin as it makes me feel dizzy and unstable. Last dose of pramipexole was June. Get occasional break throughs of RLS but either get up and have a hot drink, putter a bit and it settles or take a 1/4 tablet of a 2mg buprenorphine.

I'm trying g to go through things one by one starting with the Trazadone which I take to combat insomnia and depression associated with Buprenorphine. Has anyone suffered from nausea with this drug and could it be that the Trazadone and the Buprenorphine are reacting against each other.

Loratadine is not working for the itching caused by Buprenorphine. Is there another antihistamine that will not exacerbate RLS? Any recommendations?????

Has anyone had long term success on Targin has it needed increasing regularly Has anyone suffered augmentation on Targin Has anyone switched from Targin to Buprenorphine - what resulted ? Has anyone gone from Buprenorphine to Targin and why ?

I’m actually in shock this dr is listening to me and willing to prescribe buprenorphine. Otherwise he’s open to opioids which I’ve taken before. Thank you.

The Aug 8 show is all about using buprenorphine (mainly suboxone) to treat Opioid addiction. Nothing new here, but it sheds a little light on why buprenorphine is hard to get.

My goal is to be able to reduce my buprenorphine dose further or stop it altogether. Because of the need to have RLS symptoms occurring before using the bands, I have cut my buprenorphine dose down to .2 mg from .4 mg.

Dear All Thank you so much for your help I had severe RLS and PLMD Thanks to this forum and a friendly neurologist I have managed to get my GP to prescribe me 0.2 mg Buprenorphine I have been on these pills for 4 nights.

Hi everyone - is Buprenorphine approved by NICE in the UK? I know a lot of docs are reluctant so was wondering. Thanks!
