massage mat

Hi,

I joined the group a couple of weeks ago and have already read loads of beneficial tips etc . I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a massage mat. I am really struggling with pain issues at the moment. Trying to work, run a home etc. I find heat really helps and I wonder if adding massage to the equation may take it a step further. Already doing reflexology this seems to be helping too.

Hello I am not sure about a massage mat as never tried one however I can recommend an actual body massage by a therapist. I go for a deep tissue / Swedish massage, it can be sore and maybe my body is sore for 1-2 days afterwards however I feel the benefits so much. I know it’s not for everyone and can be too painful for some people. I have fibromyalgia and CFS, It helps with the pain but not the tiredness x

Thank you for your response, I think a massage like that would be too intense for me I’m always afraid of making things worse. I am glad that you have found something that helps you. It’s a long road isn’t I’m still at the trial and error stage .👍😀

I agree. I’m very careful with massages. Usually just a half hour of relaxation massage and I find acupuncture is also, helpful.

Yes I know what you mean, you can have an aromatherapy massage which is a lot lighter pressure. I hope you find something that works for you. I use a tens machine and a heated gel pad which is just like a hot water bottle but you charge it with a usb cable x

If you haven't already, get yourself a large heated blanket. Sometimes just having heat all over body helps to relax and soothes me no end.

I’m happy to help hate seeing people struggling. I’m not affiliated with it or looking to make any money out of it. Just a few tips if you get a letter or a doctors note to confirm you have fibro first then you contact the chemist in Glasgow. I will enclose a picture of the contact details you can ask them any questions that you wish then you upload confirmation of your illness then you pay £50 for a telephone consultation then if you are suitable they will send you a link to pay. Luckily it’s only £22.50 per month , there is a Facebook group for this drug as well which is really helpful . please feel free to contact me if you need any more info. Good luck here’s to being pain-free

Good morning. I am five weeks in now on LDN. I do not regret starting it a slight reduction in pain better sleep less fatigued, headaches gone. Why didn’t I find this earlier? Obviously I’m not a doctor, but the NHS chemist Dickinson can help with any guidance or information that you may need if you wish to start this, obviously this is just my experience. I only mention it in hope that somebody else like yourself might respond the same way I’m sick of feeling like a zombie and all the other medication that is prescribed on this. I’ve had no side-effects so I feel like a relatively normal person , good luck

I find a hot water bottle at night applied to various places while you are still awake is quite helpful while it's so cold outside. 🌝

I must admit that I had a massage and was bad for two weeks but I’ve used a Shakti mat and, recently bought the heat wrap. It does look daunting to start with but it does give you a calm feeling as it helps you relax believe it or not. The heat wrap is put into the microwave, I roll it up and place my neck and shoulders on it and then a candle in a darkened room certainly helps
