Pain support

good morning I am new to this forum. I am undergoing bloods, x-rays etc to see why I am in constant pain, but my Dr has said Osteoarthritis in my knees and possibly fibromyalgia. I have pain in my knees for approx 8 years and the rest of the pain around 2. There are days/nights where I cry in pain. I use a tens machine constantly, but no pain killers. Nothing at all seems to work. After reading through some comments it seems my Dr’s haven’t been as helpful as they could have. Maybe the fact I havent had a diagnosis is why!! I have only had naproxin 500mg and paracetomol prescribed. According to them thats all they could offer. I went to the a and e department due to the pain being so bad and they gave me codeine. This didn’t work either. I now have an appointment in November with a musculoskeletal consultant, not sure I can wait that long tbh. Any advice on pain management would be very much appreciated… sorry for the long message,

I find breathing exercises, cold showers and meditation help. Nothing gets rid of the pain permanently though. Hope this helps.

Thank you for replying, how do I go about finding an advocate?

Hi French-bearSadly, I read your post as if it was me 15 yrs ago. I put a post up today about my first visit to my GP, It may help you.

After a cocktail of medication and numerous frustrating trips to the GP, blood tests, blood test, Nothing unusual was ever discovered.

I did eventually find my answer - Therapy. (I started to take control of my mind)

500mg is quite a lot of naproxen are you taking Omeprazole at the same time?

No, Lansoprazol 30mg. The naproxen stopped working and I had to be careful due to having asthma.

I take Naproxen for migraines and the Ompeprozal bc I'm over 42 but my friend didn't like how Ompeprozal made her feel so didn't take it and the Naproxen has permanently damaged her stomach.

So maybe lansaoprazol is different in regards to the stomach?

Exercise is what I use to treat fibro. After years on many drugs realized none of them were going to work, even the morphine.

Not what you're looking for?
