Went in my top oven today to get my baking tray. And not there! So I thought where is that then. So I had a look in the main oven. And there it was, with moldy chips and moldy crispbakes! I was going to have that either Thursday or Friday, I can't remember. But I didn't fancy it. So thought I'd leave it in oven , and I will have it tomorrow. Well of course I totally forgot all about it!
Sometimes this fibrofog scares me. As sometimes you have no recollection at all! And I don't like it. But I admit though as well, sometimes it can be funny, frustrating! But funny.

I did a similar thing last week, we'd had bangers and mash for our tea, and there were a couple of sausages left, as it was a very hot day, I put the sausages on a plate and put them into the microwave to cool down, so that I could put them in the fridge for later, we have a very small kitchen, so no where to leave them out. I forgot all about them, and when my husband went to use the microwave a couple of days later, he discovered the sausages! They had to be binned! lol xx
I hear you!I worry where I may have left things.I try to finish a task when I can. I use chalk board door hangers on hooksHeating on/gate open etc
Cuts a bit of stress
When explaining to others at work or outside my home I say "I have some medical memory problems" this stops people telling me they have just the same and it happens to them/everyone.
Me too, I have found rotten food in microwave, I put the food there because I am very hungry but then cannot remember I’m hungry and ….sad and funny at the same time,
I’m baffled with my fragile brain. I definitely lost my motor skills, I’m scared too to the point of not being to look after myself at middle age, let alone old. I get outraged when people say to me “you look vibrant” as if wanting to dismiss how I’m feeling
I found a black garlic bread in mine the other day.....i forgot i put it in the oven and it was in there for over an hour so wen I noticed I turned the oven off and thought I'd let it cool before moving it. Found it in there days later.....
I forgot to lock my front door overnight a few weeks ago, my husband was away for work so I was on my own all night in an unlocked house. I’m terrified of doing it again, I’m obsessively checking the doors now when I’m on my own.
It really is Sandra. It can be destructive and many times humiliating with the way people look at you or speak to you. Thank God we can laugh and find a respite in humour. I've found it helps if you can laugh at yourself. Thank you for reading my post and take care of you xx💕
Took chicken out of freezer put them in my husbands work boots as they are in the cupboard I keep the freezer in he went to put them on next day as you can imagine they had defrosted
I think we are all in the same boat, at first we found the humour in it. However because of how dangerous it got for me, my husband does all the cooking . I do feel the loss of not being able to cook but it beats finding things in peculiar places.
This is a throwaway comment but I wish my mistakes would make my partner want to learn to cook meals...He always offers to help but has 2b told every step of the procedure...
I shouldn't complain should I?
I forget where I put anything in life???
Clothes, bedding, shoe partners, paperwork, cash, cushions from the bed... Then when I start looking I really can't see them!!!
And I am looking straight at them!
Sometimes I find unusual objects in the weirdest places years later...
This is me all the time, last week I put some soup in to the microwave to heat, promptly forgot made myself a sandwich and left the kitchen found the soup the next day 😂
Hi.. I've done the daftest things too... I often go from room to room looking for things, like my glasses and eventually find them .... on my head! Ho hum... Have had a read through of others replies and I can't help but laugh. I call it having a senior moment, everyone has those, well... maybe not quite so bad, but they do. p.s. shame about the carrot cake.
My husband and I went to town last year (a very rare event for me !) and as we wanted things from different shops, we split up and were going to meet at Costa in 30 mins.I got what I needed at a shop, then I promptly drove straight home (as I was in so much pain from the short walk) without him !
I forgot my husband was with me (and I never ever go out without him unless it's to work!) and that we'd agreed to meet for coffee, and even that I had the wheelchair in the car and could've asked my husband to fetch it to get me to the bloody car !
I think that was when he realized that I wasn't exaggerating my memory problems !
Oh no! I can relate. I once hid my unwashed frying pan and saucepans in the oven when a friend came over. I only realised when I put the oven on to cook dinner and found them red hot (luckily the plastic handles hadn’t melted). I was initially worried about dementia because I forget everything and muddle my words up, but now I know it’s another symptom of the fibromyalgia. I do endless daft things 🤪. Xx
