hi does anyone ever feel funny when you are out places or not. I was in marks and Spencers this afternoon and came over all funny and weird.i had to sit down for a bit till it went off. I felt so embarrassed about it but I hope I will be okay and don't know if it is anxiety making me feel like that or something else. I am talking to the doctor again on Wednesday. Thank you for any advice. I have had some dizziness and feeling like I was moving or off kilter to one side as if tilting, and told the doctor about it and said that I sometimes felt weird with the dizziness and he thought it was labrynthitus.

with fibro can also get a bounty of extra illnesses, how lucky are we (not) the one that may of experienced is cfs

nhs.uk/conditions/chronic-f...

have a read and see if this is what experienced, it may not be.

(pacing and daily living aids will help, also ensure eat regular.)

would write or speak to gp to report this scary new issue

gentle hugs

I get this occasionally - in my case wouldn't say it was a symptom of Fibromyalgia but more due to the circumstances at the time. Often happens in shops where I might be struggling with pain and fatigue from walking, as onto that sensory overload from bright lights /noise... Then on top of that the shop itself might be warm /stuffy

I can normally hold it together until I get out the shop - but I have walked out and left shopping in the middle of the shop before (or left hubby to pay/pack)

Very similar to the beginning of my panic attacks, like Hazel says it can be worry about pain in an overwhelming environment.

I think Hazel got it spot on. I have the same problems when in shops etc.

If I force myself to go out when in pain or overtired I react in the same way. Then it usually ends up in a panic attack.

Sounds a bit like the funny turn I had back in march my vision went funny and I ended up with double vision for weeks... it's gone back to normal now. They thought I'd had a stroke but I hadn't, but my blood pressure was very high so that was probably the cause. Thinking about it, low blood pressure can cause some of the feelings you had.

Yes I get something similar, if I turn my head my head too quickly it seems to throw my balance right off and gives you a horrible sickly feeling. Get another strange one when i start to get out after parking the car, I sometimes feel as though the car is still moving, grab for the handbrake even though I know it's not. It's very strange 😳

hi , its all part of the fibro , usually gets worse now the atmosphere is getting colder , the lighting , the many smells from all the plastics , clothing etc etc on the shelves can affect the balance , quite often feel like im about to kilter over and drop dead in the supermarket in wintertime , tried many forms of medication many years ago , sometimes felt like it was a " pick n mix " from Woolworths aka Woolies :) , best to avoid all meds as they just increase more toxins in the body , toxins make us dizzy ,

I had a bad bout labyrinthitis about 18 months ago, and although the worst of it has settled, I still feel slightly woozy for the first half of most days (a bit dizzy and as if the ground is not quite where I expected it to be when I take a step).

I have also found that the fluorescent lighting in most big wharehousey shops and supermarkets makes me feel very weird - dizzy and nauseous.

I believe they work by flickering between full brightness and less bright so fast our brains can't consciously detect it, but my brain sure can.

Yeah I have moments when I "feel a bit weird". It's like the start of a panic attack, but now I recognise it, I can usually control it and stop it from becoming worse (I'd been to A&E twice before I learned to recognise it). It all coincided with fibro for me.

I get all sorts of 'thingies' like dizziness, double vision, headaches, retching and sweats, usually when I am out. Perhaps they occur too when I am inside but outside just makes them far more noticeable. I have been known to detonate when out and about and usually do not eat for 24hrs beforehand. This reduces the risk, but I still carry a clean-up kit.

I hope you do too sweetie it’s not fun , have you been to a pain clinic yet . The best thing I found was getting a hobby it takes your mind away for a while when your doing it . Best distraction and exercise does help when your up to it . Keep your chin up fibrogirl . 🥰🥰

you will be very lucky if you don’t put weight on it seems to come with it for a lot of us I was tiny build but not anymore . I understand you crying when I was in my twenties I thought I can’t stand this for the rest of my life , but I have it’s not easy . I found you had to accept the things you can no longer do grieve for them and find new things to do . Xx

i agree with all your replies as i work in a small supermarket and i too get funny feelings at times. i too think it's the bright chiller lights and noise that over whelms me at times. it happened yesterday so i sat in the tea room for 5mins to try to get my legs stronger as i felt suddenly weak & light headed. But please see you doctor, fibro affects us all in similar and yet different ways xx

I get that weird feeling a lot especially when I'm out. When I'm in a shop I start sweating profusely, I get really dizzy and my legs go weak and shaking. I feel like I am having a meltdown. I also find it difficult to walk in a straight line. I look like I'm drunk. I've only recently been diagnosed with FMS so I'm discovering all the different symptoms plus I have CFS so a double whammy for
