The same here. For some ppl it can take up to two weeks before get tolerated. My father took it for about 1,5 week and felt dizziness, lightheadedness and headache before the symptoms were gone. Then after a wile he even switched to generic indapamide (from Canadian pharmacy - canadapharmacy.com/) and there was no such sides again.

I must admit I had to try several high blood pressure drugs before finding one that I could tolerate.I ended up on Irbersaten. Try and give it a couple of weeks as long as the side effects don't become extreme as sometimes the body needs time to adjust. Initially I felt quite giddy and strange with the one I am in now but over a 2 week period it slowly eased and after about 3 weeks I didn't notice any difference. Good luck.

Candesartan,Lacidipine and Atorva Statin works well for me ( not perfect spelling) the 3 combined are evidently better than one strong one . Good luck ask around that’s the way to do it 👍🏻👍🏻

I've been on Candesartan 8mg, Lercanidipine 10mg and Atorvastatin 20mg (plus Ezetimibe 10mg) too and tolerated them well.

Just to get things sorted: Only the first two are for blood pressure. The second two are for blood fats.

The argument that combinations might be better applies to those too, so Ezetimibe is often being added and Atorvastatin lowered, which is good as statins are risky, esp. for us (muscle pain).

After seeing that Candesartan has the least side effects sfx, I asked if I could leave the Lercanidipine. Prof's reply was: yes, double Candesartan to 16mg.

Then I realized I'm getting more headaches and then measuring too low pressure, so recalled that my pains are down and about 5 of the supps I'm taking are reducing blood pressure too, so asked my GP if I can try leaving it altogether, he agreed as long as I check 3x a day every 2 weeks. Apart from this week that's been OK, still wary.

Then I saw that I'd got my LDL cholesterol down to stable under 50 & triglycerides to around 100 using a strict Mediterranean although they only need to be around 70 and under 200 respectively. I also have increased lipoprotein a, but this is not influenced much by blood fat meds, praps even increased. So I asked my GP if I can reduce those too. Again yes, if we check it regularly. I'm so sure that I can keep it down with my diet that I've braved to stop them all.

Interestingly nothing has improved since stopping, so I do seem to have tolerated them well (as opposed to all pain meds). Less pills to take & no meds is great for mind & probably body too.

Now I'll get both things checked in about 6 weeks and see if my optimism is justified...

I couldn't t take indapamide. My blood pressure dropped really low and that's as dangerous as high blood pressure.

Hi there, if you have any concerns perhaps ring the 111 service for a call back for a piece of mind, long weekend and surgeries not open till Tuesday , I have found them to be very helpful in the past , take care.

Hi, I have taken atenolol for almost three years. It made me very tired at the beginning, but that got better over time. It’s a medication that is also prescribed off label for anxiety. I take it for fast heart rate and ectopic beats. I also take magnesium and L-theanine. You most likely need to give the med a bit more time for your body to adjust. If that doesn’t work, your GP could offer more options. All the best to you!

Like Dizzart I second candesartan. After checking which of my blood meds might be causing my suddenly extreme drowsiness, I saw lercanidipine for blood pressure as well as atorvastatin and ezetimib for blood fats (along with strict Mediterranean diet, which helps a lot). Since I cdnt find any side effects for candesartan, I asked all my docs and they said I cd increase it from 8mg to 16mg and leave off the lercanidipine. I am someone who usually doesn't tolerate meds, but I'm lucky with my blood meds. Aspirin I take in the protect form.(Since using GABA, the drowsiness, exacerbated by melatonin & CBD oil, is down again at last.)
