Any ideas on why my Neutrophils have been low in range or under range for some years now please?

Hi All

STILL looking for answers for muscle aches that started during a short 12 week course of statins ending in April 17, I came across these Neutrophil results - all low in range or under range.

The aches have continued and progressed since then.

However, on a good note, I have had a very few days where the Aches mysteriouly vanish! However, they don't last more than a day or so and the aches always come back. And I would love to find out why.

23 Oct 20 - NHS - 2.0 (2-8)

3 July 20. Medichecks. - 1.71 (2-7.5)

8 Jan 20. Medichecks. - 1.64 (2-7.5)

20 Sep 19. Medichecks. - 2.5. /2-7.5)

16 Aug 19 - NHS - 2.2 (2-8)

5 July 19. - Medichecks. - 2.2. (2-7.5)

4 April 19. - Clementine Churchill - 2.56 (2-7.5)

1 April 19 - NHS. - 3.0. (2-8) 25/2/19. Medichecks. - 2.22. (2-7.5)

21 Nov 17 - NHS. - 2.9 (2-8)

10 Aug 17. - Bluecrest. - 3.43 (2-7.5)

4. July. 17. - NHS. - 2.4 (2-8)

16 May 17. - NHS. - 2. (2-8)

28 Nov. 16. - Bluecrest. - 51.3% (45-75%)

22. Aug 16. - NHS. - 2.8 (2-8)

Btw would there be any link between the highest result of 3.43 in Aug 17 and a lovely period 4 weeks later, of 6 days in mid September 17, where the aches mysteriously vanished?

And I was able to ride my bike at my pre-statin 17 av speed!

Any tips gratefully received, as usual!

Thanks

Hi there, I am sorry but no one here is qualified to answer your question. To be honest I've no idea what Neutrophils are. I'm away to Google it up. The only person who could explain your readings would be your GP I'm afraid xx

Hi there, I have had a look around and not seen any forum for your particular problem. I am sorry. There may be one but but I may have missed it 😕

I have neutropaenia and every blood test comes back with low white blood cells. It started over 20 years ago when I started with Chronic fatigue syndrome. When I was referred to a haematologist he said it wasn’t low enough for any kind of treatment.

Thanks Pat

Sorry to hear you too have neutropenia and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Can I ask what are your neutrophil numbers are please?

How low does it have to be for treatment to be considered?

All the best

Thanks for your reply HMBradley

Yes it may well be due to infection and the Medichecks reviewing Dr said the same thing

I am seeing my Dr tomorrow and will see what he makes of it

Thanks

Sorry I don’t know the numbers. I was told them years ago but as I am not having infections I am not that bothered about it. I do know the numbers go up and down. I told my GP not to call me in about it unless it was urgent.

Thanks scrumbler for link

My neutrophils were low even before statins - 2.8 in August 16

I started statins in Dec 16

All the best
