Can Ibuprofen make muscle aches WORSE?

Hi All

Looking for answers for long standing muscle aches, which started during a short 12 week course of statins, which I stopped in April 17.

However, despite stopping them all that time ago, the aches have not only NOT gone away, but seem to progress by the week.

So, I tried 4 days of 1800 mgs Ibuprofen ending yesterday, hoping it would help.

However, I can honestly say, that the aches are now WORSE! So, I've stopped them.

I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this please?

Hi there I see you've been struggling with muscle aches for quite sometime. May I ask what your doctor thinks the problem is? I read some of your posts where you say other things make your muscle ache worse like nightshade food for example. But you felt better after stopping mushrooms. Forgive me if I've misread what you posted. Now you think the ibuprofen is making the aches worse.

You may be highly sensitive to a lot of things some people are. Only your GP would be able to give you an answer to that I'm afraid. I would give them a call if you've not done so all ready and hopefully they can give you an explanation to what the problem is 🤞🤞

What does your doctor think is causing all your muscle aches do they know? What have they given to to help you if anything 😐

Muscle pain is a known, if rare, side effect of Ibuprofen. You need to tell your Doctor.

Seems many things make my aches worse

I shall not revisit ibuprofen for sure
