Hi their, was just wondering if anyone has experienced upper spine pain with fibromyalgia?
I'm having shoulder spine, aches in knees and ankle joints also around/under ribcage
I have has msk team say they would diagnose me with fibro however I have also asked to be seen by a respiritory team and being refferred to neurology so he would only do this if all referrals were clear to rule anything else going on, feel fatigued!! And feeling unwell and in pain I would say constant, not liking the feeling of the upper spine pain I'm always getting, just waiting on referrals for answers, I believe this all started after a chest infection in which took 2 lots of antibiotics, then pleurisy. But have had 2 clear chest x Ray's since, thankyou for your time.

Thankyou for your reply, I guess for me it's all just a waiting game I just feel my spine and all the joints maybe slightly moreso on my right side hurts I really do feel I wake up and go to sleep like this the past 12 weeks, I dont feel iv had a good moment where I feel ok, all new to me so dont really know what's normal for this or atm what my outcome actual diagnosis will be, thankyou for reading, hope your aches get some relief!! G
Yes diagnosed 3 years ago but had symptoms from 5 years ago. Tried various medication. They help in the short term and then nothing. The pain comes back. Then you have to come off them which is hard and you end up worse than before. Sorry I'm sounding negative but that what's happened to me. Make sure you know the side effects of each medication. Good luck x
I am sorry for your pain for each of you. The "negative talk " as you put it is in fact reality when using conventional man made chemical pills rather than plants and plant based medicines and diets.
My decision to choose #plantsoverPills was the best thing I ever did. If you decide it isn't for you then you have no problems coming off of natural remedies as opposed to at least 35 side effects or having withdrawal issues when using conventional pills.
I am available to assist or educate you any time should you like more information about natural means of helping your body do as it was created to do and get back to healing itself while bringing relief in the mean time. Prayers for both of you.
I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have all the symptoms you have described plus more. Because of the nerve compression I have asked my GP to refer me to a neurologist but He said I have to take things phase by phase.
Soon you will realise this is a bizarre condition requiring lots of research by the medical science. I wish we could have all avoided this foe. 🖤
Thankyou for your reply, they mean so much to me because I do feel lost at the minute with my health, and anxious with having 2 very small children, my concern is I feel if it is this it was after a very bad chest infection so I will struggle to believe it is this until obviously all tests come back normal with respiritory and neurology, tbh I just feel quite alarmed by the spine pain cause it seems to start as a muscle ache either side of spine and now whilst I'm resting, my upper spine is throbbing in a certain spot, how long have you had the nerve compression? Is your pain mirrored? Or stronger on a certain side? Another feeling I'm with which I understand may sound and is probably totally irrelevant but I am getting a awful burning pain under collarbones fairly constant Thankyou so much for your time!
I too have fibromyalgia and have everything you have got plus more. I do have many conditions which cause pain, this obviously doesn't help!! I do hope you feel some relief soon. I hope your family and friends are supportive. When you see anyone medical please lay it on the line as to how you feel. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
I have had it for many years but formally diagnosed last year. The pain moves around and it can be between few seconds to few hours but the overall general pain never goes away. I also have spinal problem making the matter worse. The causes could vary for each of us but it is good that you are seeking diagnosis. Soon I will be heading for hot yoga as it gives a slight freedom in terms of muscle movement. Another thing I find helpful is exercise but manage it few times a week. Trying to increase it in the summer
I do feel for you as managing the condition with children becomes even harder. Xx
Hello, I'm a Fibromite and I find that my pains are mainly below the waist, but I also carry a lot of tension in my shoulders, especially if I'm feeling stressed.
I know this is going to sound odd.... but..... if you were given antibiotics for your pleurisy, your Gut Biome (the friendly bacteria that line your GI tract) will have been killed off alongside the infection.
Many of the hormones that manage the level of pain we feel are made in our gut and need the friendly bacteria for those chemical reactions to work. They also need good levels of Vit B6 and Vit C, which are often lacking during times of stress and illness.
If nothing else, drink some Yakult each morning (but NOT with a hot drink, as this'll kill it's active content, or take a wide-spectrum probiotic, with a pre-biotic that'll keep the little germs alive and fed until they reach your gut, together with a Vit complex that gives you 50mg of B6, and 500mg of Vit C.
Tell your GP and other professionals you're doing this, and ask for their help in getting the rest of your body back to better health. It WILL help reduce some of the FM symptoms too, if only by building up your resilience to them.
Also, try and de-stress yourself if you can.
N.B. I used to say 'rest', what I actually mean by this is; "stop - what you're doing that's causing you pain and/or stress - and dedicate a specific frame of time to relax, by meditating, gardening, enjoying the washing-up (what's not to like about having your hands and wrists in hot, soapy water - as long as you don't have to scrub anything?!?), walk the dog, read your kids a story, cook something you like - for fun!, listen to some music that holds happy, fond memories, bird watch, cloud watch, make your cat purrrrrr.
Whatever it is, remove the held-in, not-here-yet, feeling in your muscles, wiggle your toes, get in the moment, breathe!!!, and enjoy.
Have you had an x-ray on your spine to check for fractures? Muscle pain either side of the spine is a classic symptom of a vertebral fracture. Also, a DEXA scan will check your bone density. Aches and pains aren't always down to fibromyalgia so it's best to get checked out.
Thankyou for your reply, I have only had a chest x ray, at first doc wanted me to start anti depressant sertraline, I started it after a month and I feel my muscle aches are now Upper spine and joint aches, it's strange my other doc told me not to start them but I guess I just thought let's give them a go and rule that out! I worrey it's something serious and that I cant help over the past month its definitely became all over joint aches, spine sometimes feel its pounding! If I didnt ask to be seen by respiritory msk was diagnosing me fibromyalgia, i want everything ruled out i know i dont feel right, under my collarbones i feel are burning i just feel their quite strange symptoms, bowels I have problems with more so before all this came on (constipation, consistency change however stool sample was normal. Can fibromyalgia be constant? Make you tired, weak, joint pain and make you feel on general like you are just about getting things done? I thank everyone taking time to read my posts the support here is wonderful, I'm quite new to this site and it does bring some comfort, G
