It started Monday evening with my right arm tingling and aching which then lead to my whole right side in pain, tingles in my wrist, hand, hip, my right shoulder and my right cheek is now numb too, I’m now on 5th day and my vision in my right eye is blurry! Thank god though I haven’t got the headache that usually goes with this.
I called the doctors wednesday who put me on tramadol 100ml 4 times a day but this morning the pain is unbearable so I called the doctors again who have proscribed morphine patches but the last time I got admitted to hospital I had morphine and it DIDN’T work.
I’ve found in the 6 years I’ve had this the only thing that takes my pain away is a IV PARACETAMOL DRIP that I can only get in hospital and I really don’t want to go in there and wondered if anyone has any recommendations?
I also use Epsom salts in a bath (I’m having 2-3 a day at the moment) and lavender on my pressure points and my oil burners.
Many thanks
Nina

Tramadol may affect your sight. Regarding flares it is difficult to advise directly with you already taking Tramadol which is cousin if you like to morphine. Its Friday as I write so give your GP a quick bell and ask to speak to a doctor. Also you can check with the chemist if they know of any products that they can recommend. Relax as much as you can, deep breathing etc.
Thank you for replying, I’ve stopped the tramadol and applied the morphine patch at midday today but I’m still in so much pain if not more as the tramadol helped a bit.
Sorry to hear you are struggling so much with pain
I only take tramadol at a low dose daily, so if in flare I can take 2-3 extra doses which is normally enough to at least take the edge off.
Heat helps my pain .... I use electric heat pad, but also warming salve/massage oils with oils such as ginger, juniper, capsaicin etc which can help reduce pain
I've also started using a weighted blanket, and find that the weight of the blanket helps reduce nerve pain slightly... Sometimes just enough to stop me climbing the walls in frustration
Xxx
Oh Ninae I completely understand how you feel nothing works for me to completely take the pain away I was in hospital last year for two weeks not related to Fibro long story but sepsis and gallbladder and the only thing that took the pain away is IV paracetamol I have found weighted blanket and heat pads and complete rest in a dark room with a Fibro body pillow great investment. I have so far not used my morphine as to be honest scares the life out of me regarding addiction etc sending you gentle hugs 🤗 🤗
The way you said you feel worse on pregablin made me ask that!
I had a really bad reaction taking tramadol after tests it was actually that I was overdosing myself as a lot of meds don’t react well with pregablin.
I would take yourself off it all for the night, give your body 12 hours to get over the medication although it’s agony, your body needs a short time to detox. and take codiene along with pregablin. Also I called the doctor last week sobbing. They have given me a strong dose of slow release ibuprofen tablet. I have it with my dinner at night and it eases the restless legs which is what was keeping me up all night. I no your pain. It’s horrendous and only we know how to help each other.
