What do people take for pain relief generally? I’m on gabapentin and take 800mg a day over 4 doses. The consultant also recommended hydro yuans acupuncture, neither of which I’ve tried. And pacing myself which is far easier said that done as I’m sure you all know only too well. Don’t really notice much of a difference! I get a lot of pain and weakness these days in my finger joints and wrists, has anyone found a miracle help?! Thanks in advance Xx

Ideas for pain in your hands and fingera
That’s so helpful thank you! I’ll give it a try later after work. Thanks!! I’ll have to invest in the mittens, maybe I’ll just try gloves till then, I’m guessing keeping them warm is the most helpful xx
Hi there keeping your hands warm and gently opening and closing the fingers help. I have bad OA in my wrists and fingers so can empathise with your pain. Also I have read but not tried yet warm wax is good for painful fingers.
Heat treatments can be enormously helpful for relieving joint pain and joint stiffness caused by arthritis. ... Paraffin wax baths allow you to immerse your hands and soothe away arthritis aches and pains. Some paraffin baths accommodate feet and elbows, too.

For my painful hands I use Voltarol gel..I wash hands in warm water, pat them dry then Apply Voltarol like hand cream and wear Isotoner gloves,I together from a occupational therapist but you can buy them, they really help..for feet same process but cotton socks on.
The absolute best thing I have ever done wrt pain in my hands was to give up diet coke and anything else with artificial sweeteners in. The pain disappeared within days and and only returns if I accidentally eat or drink something containing aspartame /saccharine /sucralose/stevia.
Worth a go?
Self- refer to a physiotherapist. Get some thermaskins gloves. They may also recommend other things - like wrist splints.
There is no majic pain relief for fibro. I think its an individual thing. What works for one may not work for another
I Pop a codeine occasionally but mainly rely on supplements that. I've researched online & got info from sites like these
