I am awaiting formal diagnosis, and new to this group, so forgive me if I am coming late to the party with this....
Last week after crippling knee, hip, chest, wrist etc etc pain, I thought I would try CBD oil (which I thought would be more snake oil than miracle cure)...... I bought premium CBD from Holland and Barrett.
However, I am astonished to report that after just ONE day of full dosage, the pains eased considerably, and I have not had to take any OTC painkillers since.
I fully appreciate that it could also be a placebo effect, as mentally I was sinking fast, but whatever it is, it's working for me.
I will give it ago but I have been told they are addictive and coming off the oil will be an issue !? Thanks for the feedback and a happy new year. Welcome to this lovely group, Have learnt a lot since I have become a member not that long ago ....🌻🌺💐🌹
Thats fabulous news for some people it can be like a miracle.
I started a good quality one a few weeks as my husband's cousin who had recommended me trying it. Within a week her hip pain had gone completely but she unfortunately increasingly found that she was getting alot of acid reflux and stomach pains. It was only when she ran out of CBD oil and couldn't immediately get a delivery she realised that those problems were easing and within a few days had ceased all together. Unfortunately, for me there was only a small amount of extra pain relief but within a few days I was feeling nauseous all the time and my IBS had gone into overdrive. I persevered hoping that these side effects would go but unfortunately they just got worse so I reluctantly had to stop. Saying this most people as long as they gradually build up don;t have the problems we had.

Dear Rose, I'd say the quality of oil is important, if the quality is right there should not be side effects like this one, I was looking at the WHO (world health org) report on CBD and they say it is not additive with virtually no side effects with lot's of healing potential
StereoJ I agree with the quality mine was quite an expensive one tailored to my needs so was disappointed. I had initially used a Holland and Barrett one which I found useless. I had even taken it to my GP to have the go ahead just in case it clashed with any of the prescribed meds I take. For some unknown reason I have always been sensitive to supplements and I have tried quite a few the only ones I seem able to tolerate are CoEnzyme Q10 and a multivitamin/mineral tablet but only in effervescent form. I have the same symptoms with alot of prescribed drugs like Tramadol. So disheartening 😧.x
Thanks Mdaisy, I have no other meds, so this is a relief. I have rebelled against all medications but do not mind trying herbals. Though last month I had to put £100 tablets, vitamins from Holland ...into the bin due to reaction. I will let you guys know how it goes as I suffer from severe acid reflux, damn life,
Funny enough I had some bread yesterday as I avoided food for a few days and I am suffering from eating a piece of bread, my brain is attacking me like a ....cant remember the word. Can’t believe what Fibromyalgia is doing to me 😂

Dear Kate, I am sorry to hear it. Have you tried hemp extract paste which is concentrated full spectrum CBD and probably the strongest CBD option available? It worked for a friend of mine while the oil did not work for him. I hope it would work for you.
I tried the H & B and had no effects but have just ordered a stronger version. My only concerns are driving. Although the THC free oil is not illegal would it show up if tested on driving screen. This is a very grey area. Will take mine at night or on days off. Hopefully once on prescription for all will be properly documented rules.
Do ask the prices in Holland and Barret as very often the price on the shelf isn’t the current price. Comparing the prices of different size bottles can make a huge difference, last time I bought some I went in a different branch to usual and the guy was so helpful......ended up saving me a fortune and he gave me an extra points voucher so was worth chatting to him.
Ps.....it is also worth trying adding Epsom salts to your bath. I have done this a couple times recently and feel it has eased the pain a little. I’d never tried it before in all my years of struggling with FMS . Although, of course, the same things don’t work for everyone.
