Again, help needed from you all. What is the situation with going on holiday abroad and being on CBD oil. Am I allowed to take it with me and if not, how on earth will I cope without it?

Holiday and on CBD Oil
Which country are you planning to visit?
CBD is a legal substance in most countries.

Hi Bananas5, We are going to Madeira.
No problems there. Beautiful island and stunning flora.

Many thanks for that bit of reassuring information. 50th wedding anniversary in March and not many places to spend a holiday at that time of the year. Have heard so much about Madeira and how beautiful it is so a nice break there should do us just fine. Thanks again for your help.
We used to own a property there some years ago. Volcanos got a bit steep so we moved to Scotland. After 12 years we missed the warm climate so moved to another volcanic island...Tenerife!!
And here we live.
Warmer hear but not as green as Madeira.

I’m not familiar with the rules regarding taking CBD into Madeira, but I personally, wouldn’t advise traveling abroad with CBD.
Even if it’s legal there, it could delay your entry into the country if you’re searched and your CBD could be confiscated for testing.
If it was me, I’d buy some CBD in Madeira and leave it behind when I return home.
If you’re determined to take it with you, I’d consider writing to the Madeira Embassy and asking them first. If they say it’s OK, you could take the letter with you.
I’d also take a copy of your invoice, a copy of the laboratory test report from your supplier and an unopened bottle.
If you try to conceal CBD as skin oil, you could find yourself in a very awkward situation. Custom Officers don’t like people trying to conceal things and why would you, if the substance is legal?
Obviously, I wouldn’t even consider taking it to countries where CBD illegal, as you could be in serious trouble. I believe in the US, it was and may be still, illegal to transport it over a state border.
Some countries can be funny about people bringing in items for medical use. Years ago, on a work trip and had to get a doctors letter for my meds and still faced an intimidating barrage of questions and a wait while they were meticulously checked.
These are just my personal thoughts and I’m in no way qualified to answer your question. I appreciate I’m very risk adverse, I’ve had my luggage searched several times and was even taken to one side over a tube of toothpaste, which was then confiscated!!! 😳 🤔
I’m not an ideal traveling companion having been on a number of flights that involved, shall we say, “issues,” some pretty scary. It’s never good when your fellow passengers start praying! 😂 I guess my uneasy feelings are reflected in my body language and that’s what gets me singled out. I rather be cautious now, than have to deal with all the added stress. x
Your holiday sounds wonderful. I personally would not take it with me. Been in a lovely warm climate will probably help a lot so you might not miss the CBD oils.
Relax and enjoy be looked after.

Are you prescribed it ? Because if you are, you can get a letter from your Dr saying it’s for medicinal and then as long as you get it out to declare it when you go through customs, you should be fine xx
No unfortunately it has not been prescribed by my GP although she is perfectly happy for me to take it alongside my meds which I am pleased to say I am reducing. I think the best thing to do, which came to me suddenly and I don't know why I didn't think of them earlier, would be to take a weeks supply of gummies. Cannot see a problem with them at all, just sweeties in my handbag. Will let you all know when I came back if it went well or will I be tucked away in some Portuguese prison, ha ha. Thanks to everyone who has come forward with ideas for me. Much appreciated.
