Swollen stomach
Sorry too read your fibro has been bad 🙁have you spoken too your doctor/practioner nurse recently for a piece of mind ? Xx
They lust told me to take omepransalol but I'm allready on then they just make me put on more weight because they reduce the asid in your stomach which causes really slow matabalism x
Hi shazzafloyd, I'm sorry to here you are suffering. I was prescribed omepansalol too but after I researched the side effects, I tossed the prescription. Don't be a guinea - pig for Big Pharma. Fibro flares do cause a very high level of fatigue. Good food and a multivitamin or Hawaiian Spirulina and plenty of rest should help. Best of luck and I hope you feel better soon.
Yes I’m on that too and my weight went on once I started on certain meds, does certain foods aggravate as well ? Well I’ve always been prone too some chocolate but it seems now it works as a laxative on me ☹️, I used too enjoy an occasional glass of Wine but that starts the acid off. There is a lanszaprazole acid tablet in the same group and some of my friends have changed via their doctors advice too try that , I hope they can look at something too help you , keep at them at your surgery if your suffering don’t let them fob you off , in the meantime take care xx
hi, I have just had this for weeks, finally sorted. I felt really unwill and spoke with Drs who arranged blood tests etc. then it got so bad I went to A n E more tests turns out I had 2 infections an undetected UTI and nDiviculitus 2 different lots of antibiotics and and another call from Drs to say I need to take Folic Acid and they have booked me a scan. All well again now. Please contact your Dr. As you never know what’s going on inside. Good luck.
Can highly relate to this Shazza most definitely.Get plenty of fatigue and the constant feeling of have aches live flu like symptoms etc.
Everyday is a struggle without a question of a doubt.
Hi ShazzafloydSorry to hear you are uncomfortable and have symptoms, as others have said best to see GP and get checked out. There may be some things that help in general while you wait. Stress relief, dietary changes, you could ask about probiotics. If you search posts on here there is lots.
Our bodies are so complex it's best to check. Even if we get fobbed off with, "don't know so it must be fibro" just keep asking.
I hope you feel better soon.
Gigi
Hi Shazzafloyd, sorry that you are experiencing all this stomach problems. When I first started having fibromyalgia stomach pain was high on the radar. In 98-00 was the worst years. I lost 25lbs due to not being able to eat. I saw so many GI doctors during that time had endoscopies and other tests. Long story short in 2000 after moving to Florida the second gastroenterologist said “you need a fresh pair of eyes to go in and look” he was that fresh pair eyes and found the problem and prescribed the right medication that worked. Don’t give up. Keep pursuing until you find a doctor who will go in with a fresh pair of eyes to find out what is causing your stomach issues. Having fibromyalgia tends to bring other health problems on but those have a separate cause. Don’t give up.
I have taken Omeprazole 20mg for many years, have tried coming off it. I always end up taking it. Last year, I was diagnosed with Barrett's oesophagus which is a precancerous condition. Luckily, I don't have cancer yet. My stomach is always very bloated, I suffer from regular constipation. I wonder if my diagnosis of Fibromyalgia is linked with acid reflux.
Bless you , I too am suffering long term tummy problems which have been ongoing . Loads of tests later I've been told it due to some of my medication? I have really had to look at my food /diet to improve my symptoms. I do not eat anything with skins or pips. Anything which is spicy.
I drink goals milk to support my tummy . I research self-help on how to support my stomach.
There's loads of information on the net that could help. I am still looking into how to deal with mine. They gave me omepransalol and I can confirm there are loads of side effects.
Your breathlessness should be checked out . because this is not a Symptom linked to your stomach.
Check your oxygen levels as these will be affected if you are having issues breathing.
Call 111 to get an appointment with your GP. Check the side effects of the drugs you currently take to see if they are creating extra Symptoms.
Do deep breathing exercises to give your self more oxygen around your body which will relax you . 😉
It's always good to go through the side effects of your drugs you already take. and questions for your GP. importantly write a list of what your body is saying to you thorough symptoms. Look after yourself and lovely warm big hugs 🫂. Please Get checked over 🤗 god bless xx
Hi shazzafloyd, so sorry you are suffering so much with fibro. I have swollen stomach related to irritable bowel syndrome, which is linked to Fibromyalgia. I have breathlessness too. At the moment I am having tests for cardiac disease. The Cardiologist told me that he thinks my symptoms are from fibromyalgia as some people with fibromyalgia have symptoms of heart disease even though there is nothing wrong with their heart.
To be sure of what is causing your symptoms of swollen tummy and breathlessness you need to see your doctor. We can't really just assume that new symptoms are down to our fibromyalgia. Let us know how you get on. Meanwhile take care of yourself. I'll say some prayers for you xx 🙏🙏
Hello shazzafloyd,Sorry to hear about your tummy troubles.
I've had stomach problems & a a bloated stomach for many years, recently I've been eating kefir in the morning with my breakfast which I've found very helpful.
It's a bit pricey in the supermarkets, but have been given some kefir seeds so am now making my own kefir.
I found this interesting I also have IBS , can you tell me how do you use Kefir seeds thank you.
Hello myfindhorn,The kefir seeds (they're actually called kefir grain) can be bought online.
I add milk to them (dairy alternatives can be used) then every 24 hours sieve it into a bowl.
In the bowl you have kefir the consistency of a yoghurt drink & in the sieve you have the kefir grain to make up your next batch.
And repeat every 24 hours & you have kefir every day.
The kefir grain grows bigger, that's why my friend gave me some when she needed to split it.
I'm finding it rather therapeutic making it each day, bit of self care & love.
Hi yes I do
