Waited 5 wks for a new appointment at docs. Had a new doctor what can I say. She's weaning me off my meds which don't work anyway. Told me to go back to pain clinic I said no waste of time. She wasn't botherd about how far it is so any way give me a number for living well that's even far way so can any body help. I'm changing docs see if they can help x rant over

Have you actually been seen by a pain consultant? In Leicester you are first seen by a pain consultant. In my wife's case she was referred to a pain management program which lasted 8 weeks. See was seen by pain specialist physio and occupational therapists. Psychologists, pharmacist etc. She came back on a greater range and strength of medications. Exercises to suit her and various coping strategies. I start my own tomorrow.

Yes, I've been to two different ones,a waste if time!! I've been referred to an orthopedics pain management and a gastro one, I'm a bit sceptical but will see what they can do!!! Take care Lynne

Hi patches 12, Pain clinic is totally different to a pain management program. It is a lot more in depth and far more one to one care. From my understanding Leicester is on of the few places to run this type of program.

That’s incredible here in Highland we are just told There’s no follow up service! Saw Rheumatologist 15 yrs ago - same meds ever since. No support at all!

Sadly in order to get on the program all other options regarding treatments need to have been tried. It is in reality a last chance to find something that helps.

Yes, not just in Highlands that nothing else offered after diagnosis...I live in less populated northern England ...postcode lottery it seems how you get supported with fibromyalgia, and host of other ailments.
