Unnecessary DLA/PIP assessments to be phased out for state pensioners

Hi Bananas5 does that apply to pensioner's on dla. I'm on the High mobility and living allowance, I haven't been called in yet. Thank you so much for posting this link it is really helpful. I hope you're having as pain free a night as possible Gentle hugs Rosie xx
How old are you?
If you are already receiving state pension and DLA then you will stay on that. You can't go any higher!!
Don't worry...just enjoy being mature!!

Sorry not to cause upset but the way I read it was slightly different. It's new claimants that won't have to keep being reassessed. This next paragraph is taken from the Government web page posted this week.
people receiving PIP who have reached State Pension age will no longer have their awards regularly reviewed, instead moving to a light touch review at 10 years. Nearly 290,000 people of State Pension age are in receipt of PIP.
From Friday, new claimants to PIP whose review would have been scheduled after they had reached State Pension age will receive an ongoing award with a light touch review at 10 years.
Other claimants older than the state pension age will eventually be rolled out to the same but not in this initial phase xx

That's fine...always good to have discussions.
It will also not mean, as some had hoped, that current DLA claimants waiting to be 'invited' to apply for PIP will now be spared if they are at or near retirement age. As before, only those who were 65 or over on 8 April 2013 will not eventually be instructed to apply for PIP instead.

Thanks once again for this :)) I just read about it, as I received my PIP award yesterday I was coming from DLA to PIP and have been really so worried, but I got enhanced awards for both care and mobility.
It just felt like I had a huge sigh of relief. Its such a stressful wait for everyone.
I am over state pension age, and as my award was for 3 years, I was wondering why when you are an older person. Reading it all, makes sense now
