Hi

I have been swollen literally everywhere since March, I was taking water pills but they haven't worked. I went to the Doctor Wednesday and he said there is nothing I can do. the only thing i can find on the internet is reduce stress. Which isn't exactly easy.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips that have helped them. I am at the end of my tether and i will try anything.

Thanks

Hi elk, i know what you mean ive had/having the same problem i just started swelling up more then i have for years im to on water pills don’t work. Doctor just told me i must put my legs up two/three times a day witch i hate doing but no one can tell me why i have started to swell so bad and the pain is horrific but i must admit when I've put my legs up for an hour or two it is taking the edge off it so i can get through my day better. Hope this is a bit of help

Thank you Donna. My Doc literally said nothing I can do. I thought brilliant another doc who doesn't know what to do with fibro. He told me all of the confusion isnt the fibro because its just muscoskeletal. I was like what? I work full time at the min and I'm not coping. Work has no interest on making things easier for me. It's just ARGHHHHH! Sorry for ranting.

Thank you again 😀

Hi Elk188🦋🌸🌿

I have been having pitting edema (where when your skin is pressed hard it leaves a deep dent in the skin) since last September 2017.

My doctor 👨‍⚕️ said I had to continue to use my diuretics cut back on your water intake lwhich includes all wet foods ( apples 🍎 oranges 🍊 cucumbers 🥒 etc ). Use compression hose/leggings as soon as you wake up before you get out of bed 🛏. If the swelling is bad in bed you can elevate your legs. Also cut back on salt intake check all food for sodium levels no salt while cooking or while eating.

If too thirsty ice chips are permitted. It isn’t easy but the pain the edema causes is terrible. I hope you get relief soon dear. Best wishes.

Thank you honeybug. I asked my doc about wearing a tubigrip just so I can get through the day at work. Texting on my phone is painful never mind 8hrs on a computer, he said no point.

He has told me the complete opposite, I seriously think I have a doc who has no idea about this, again. Always stuck with the duds, when all I need is help.

Thank you for your reply, going to have to stop writing my hands are screaming at me. Take care. 😀
