new to group ,old back injury from nursing i have severe osteoarthritis all over 2 new hips need new knee as well had a really bad time both emotionally ,divorce after 40 years and the pain .i have been treated for PMR with steroids but rheumatoligist says no its fibro it does explain all the symptoms im suffering from . I did go to my old GP 5 years ago with a printout of fibro symptoms he told me there is no such thing as fibro its just a made up name for symptoms no one can diagnose so they call it fibro he told me to forget it and keep taking the analgesia as directed , last few months i feel as if im going mad forgetting simple things, falling over, blurred vision even my cat hurts me when climbing all over me . My new GP has been really sympathetic with me is trying different things doing tests etc I have tried different analgesia but have had allergic reactions to them so tylex seems to be the only thing i can take without having bad reactions im trying chair yoga and going to be taking up aqua in local pool . how do you all manage your symptoms ? i was only given a diagnosis yesterday so its all new to me . thanks for reading

I agree nursing leaves us with many issues.

I wish you well with your new diagnoses, do you have a pain management

group in your area? they are very good to attend.

Welcome to the site. Out of the 10 people I knowing real life that have fibro 6 are nurses.

I always thought that it would be my back that go on me after years of using the Australian lift to move patients before it was banned. However I was wrong, MRI showed no damage to my spine but the fibro is another story altogether.
