Sorry to moan but I don't have anyone else to moan to. Am having a really teary day and my back muscles are tightening up because of it . One of my colleagues is in hospital after having a stroke and he's only 40 . Boss is having a melt down because he will be a member of staff down for ages and is stressing everyone out. He told me I had to wait hours for info I need for month end as though my job isn't important but as I am the only one doing accounts it really is important. Am in a bad mood today, angry and upset . He doesn't get it about fibro that the more stressed I get the worse my symptoms will become .
Sorry rant over

I can't offer much advice, you know you need too keep calm easier saide than done !your health is more important than a job, although I understand you need your job, obviously.just try too stay as stress free as possible, (((hugs))) X
How approachable is he? Type out some info about fibro in a biggish font size (or do a quick copy and paste!) and insist he reads it and talks about it...sounds as if he is under pressure and his logic has flown off with the Halloween witches on broomstick. Tell him that if he needs your input he needs to understand what makes you productive.....and having a melt down and stressing his staff out won't achieve that. At this rate he'll be in hospital next...
Take a deep breath, lie flat on a floor etc somewhere, stretch....and then talk.
Sounds impossible? Not if your health is at stake! I've seen a teacher stretched out over desks (during break times!) because of a sore back and it got him through the day!
It sounds as if he depends on you ....so he needs to give a little in return!
Hope things improve and your colleague soon recovers and returns to a calmer workplace!
Bless you Hun, what a horrible, stressful time you're having. Try and take some long, deep breaths to help calm you down. Try and stretch your back like dippydame has said and then approach your boss. I'm sorry I can't offer any more advice Hun but I'm thinking of you. You can rant anytime you want to. After all that's what we're here for xx
Thank you all . My boss makes all the right noises about being concerned but in truth he is more bothered about going on as many holidays s he can and did what is going on with stresses with his staff. The lad who had a stroke had been given a hard time as he was taking a days holiday to look after his kids on half term ! He told boss it was up to him what he did on his days holiday. He was at work til 8pm Friday with his kids in the office to get up to date and then was admitted to hospital Saturday after having a headache all week
I'm sorry you're having a bad day, it sounds like a really stressful situation. Please be gentle on yourself if you can and take breaks and look after yourself. Sending love x
At risk of being controversial, how about really putting up the boss' blood pressure by telling him you need a few days off?
If he can treat your workmate so badly he has a stroke, and gives you no consideration for your condition, I'm surprised you aren't looking for another job.
Accounts is a stressful job at the best of times, an inconsiderate boss is out of order.
