First Physio Session

Hi all, Just been to my first physio session and I feel like I am going round in circles.

He wouldn't touch me with how sensitive I was to touch (I knew that would happen) however he got me to do my bending stretching reflexes etc as I have hyper mobility syndrome so he wanted to see how that was and he said something along the lines of I move myself in 1 dimensions were as you should be moving in multiple dimensions (too technical for me to understand) said I may potentially be able to have physio but firstly he wants a specialist physio to see me beforehand as he is concerned with my stiffness and especially how bad it is of a morning.

Well at least he seems to realise that your case is complex and is taking it seriously and realises that it needs someone with more expertise than he has to look into what is best for you. I do hope that this expert physio can help you. Do let us know how you get on as there are quite a few people on the forum who like you have hypermobility syndrome.x

Well, that's a good start and great that he took notice of your pain sensitivity.

Hope you don't have to wait too long for the specialist physio.

Hi HanLea

I have been to see several Physio's. One of them was a specialist in Fibro.

None of them have ever actually done anything other than show me exercises to do.

I also have Hypermobility Syndrome and actually (just in my personal opinion) think that what he said is the wrong way around.

With Hypermobility Syndrome our joints over stretch which I think causes the extra pain.

That's just my thoughts. I am not a medical professional.

I am just speaking from my own experiences of HMS. I used to do a lot of gymnastics at school and ran Cross Country for my school.

I can barely walk to the end of my small garden now.

Hi, I'm so glad that you have a good physio. Mine doesn't believe in hypermobility pain or osteoarthritis! So not sure how it's all going to go! Seeing as I have both and fibro! I've only had one session so far, next one the end of next month.
