^ months ago I was discharged from secondary care (mental health) totally against my wish, I have since made 2 self killing attempts, Just got settled down, then got demand for tax credit repayment from 2007, it wasn't an over payment, spoke to hmrc helpline, they were very good, then spoke to field agent, he said to prepare income and expenditure, and call him, I said I was gonna ask for a waiver or remittal, he said he had no idea about them, he would be looking to consider my repayment proposals, He obviously had not listened, I did not accept there was an over payment, and even if there was I was asking for a waiver, obviously I dare not allow him in as he could exercise distrait over my goods, I hate it when I try to be acquiescent and they are cnts

Hi. Please visit A&E if you are feeling suicidal. They are excellent. You can be assessed by a doctor and they can help you. Please see your G.P to be referred back to mental health. Your life is worth everything and at times of suffering we all need help. I know stress is extremely hard to deal with and can push us over the edge when we are feeling down.

Your best bet for the help with your tax credits is citizen advice, CAB. Please give them a ring so they can assist you with your money worries. It's crazy that they are asking for a repayment from years ago. Hopefully you can get the help you need and live a stress free life.

I wish you all the best and really hope that you feel better soon. But please, don't give up. Xx

However much this stresses and worries you, please do not ignore it. The DWP and HMRC are linked so the money will be taken from your benefits and it may be more than the amount you feel you can pay each week.

I believed my solicitor when he said the stamp duty mix up on my home was sorted out. SIX YEARS later we were hit with a £5000 bill from HMRC. We struggled to pay it off using savings and selling items and calling in favours. Some months after, we were hit with a bill for unpaid interest which had accumulated to over £2000, for which we had to take a loan. The solicitor did not work at that partnership any more, we complained to the Ombudsman but they could not do anything as it was over six years old (just) There was no comeback as it was our fault to make sure the Stamp Duty form was completed accurately, something you pay a solicitor to do properly!

I hope you get it sorted out okay, please see the National Debtline website and other free advice sites who may be able to guide you and write to HMRC on your behalf.

If you feel that you may be suicidal then please talk to someone, the Samaritans phone number is in Pinned Posts.

X

Hi

I am sorry you are feeling in so low if you are feeling suicidal you need to tell someone. If you feel you cannot go for medical help maybe a close friend or relative? I had postnatal depression and my husband came out of work and I had debts I could not face or see a way out of. I can only offer you this based on my own experience you need to address you mental health before trying to sort debts or bills. Once I went to my doctors I began to see a light. It took about 6-8 weeks before the anti depressants kicked in. I think knowing I had admired I needed support took a weight off. Everyone no mater who at some point needs support it takes a strong person to be able into ask for it. Stay safe x

Hi deben100

I am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend, and as the others have said, if you feel suicidal then please visit your nearest A&E or call the emergency doctors service. As for the Tax Credits, they can attach an order to your benefits and after going over your income and outgoings. This could be a very small monthly repayment. It may be prudent to visit your nearest Citizens Advice and take all of your paperwork with you and ascertain what it is they are trying to recoup?

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
