was wondering if any of you have had this test and how did you get on with it ?

i got my results last week and my score was 73 so they are referring me to the memory clinic.

I spoke to my brother about the result and he said its not good.

Morning

Youre score was 73 well done I believe that is more than acceptable it is if you are wll below 50 that you could have problems. Look at Cognitive Test results page on web it may reassure you.

just googled the actua l test.you mentioned and the scores are 84-86 foo 50-75 year olds so you are not that far below. my husband has this test due to dementia and he is a lot lot loweer than you. so no worries. it also depends how you were on the day and which section you had probs with. the memory clinic will go over stratagies to help you.

thanks gins and josieowl, i have been advised under 80/83 is "a problem" in the letter i have from the psychiatrist i had to see says it could be a dimentia related issue. also, when i spoke to my brother he said its not good however he does not get involved in family health issues as he is a professor of geriatric medicine so it would not been good for him to get involved. i am now waiting to see if they need any more blood tests and they will then be sending me to memory clinic.

thanks again

Belinda xx

hi I had a ct scan done a few mounths ago and had to go see a memory psychiatrist a little while after he said my brain was smaller than it should be and refferd me onto the memory psychologist I had to do some test not sure if they are the ones you speak of they asked many question and I had to look at loads of pictures and try and remember them it was really difficult and stressful I though I had done ok but my daughter said it was really bad ! anyhow the dr said she did not think it was dementia but there was a problem a few days later I got an appointment to see another psychiatrist (I seem to have a few now ) and she explained in more detail the results of my ct scan and said I have brain atrophy she also ask many question plus my support worker was there and contributed his thoughts to the discussion, the out come was that she has said she is sufficiently concerned enough to re-refer me back to memory clinic for further tests as to what is causing this problems im absoloutly terrified xx
